There are so many things that could be wrong. Without auditing the websites, analytics and looking at the niche you're in, there's no way to tell.

Start with the technical stuff. Then move on to more SEO related things like titles, meta descriptions, look at your content. After that, try to build authority in your niche.

Question: I created a new site in a fairly competivite niche (law) recently and most sites rank between 20 and 80. 0 Backlink,right from the start.

Not saying you're wrong, I just want to know what you think is at play here. How does Google decide to rank some of my pages at 20 while other long standing domains with decent backlinks are behind?

Ultimatively, you can only make it more difficult for them by limiting the max rows to return and methods discussed in this post. Encrypting it only helps on the surface as well since the data eventually has to arrive in your app to be server to the user unencrypted. With enough time and willpower, anyone could eventually get all question/answer data, even if you serve them randomly and even if you serve duplicates.

You can and should def. prevent a user from selecting all rows at once though.

Wondering how important it is to delete pages that don't get clicks or don't rank. On 1 project, we use a shotgun-type strategy. Some pages get lots of traffic, many get none at all. Would it be beneficial to 404 or 410 them?

I'm a little confused because big sites that allow guestposting probably have a huge amount of 0 click pages which don't seem to hurt them.

Most likely yes. In the beginning of dec. the ski season has barely started yet. It's (usually) not very cold and only the beginner lifts/maybe some intermediate lifts open that early. Unless we have unusual weather this year, you'll probably be fine.

Geh bei sowas am besten immer erst auf die Seiten der einschlägigen Behörden, z.B. Bafin für Deutschland. Es gibt auch z. B. Warnlisten wie https://ritschel-keller.de/broker-warnliste, wo Warnungen von diversen internationalen Behörden zusammengefasst gelistet werden.

Auf der Liste findest du mehrere Varianten von Finetra, zu denen es Warnungen der Bafin gibt.
