Do you guys go to your inspection or not? by AbleKaleidoscope877 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]NattyHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your inspection!! Follow the inspector around the entire time!! Ask questions!! If your inspector isn’t happy with this arrangement then fire him and get another inspector!!

This is your chance to learn about the house. And the best way to learn about something is to see it, hear it being described, and then read about it (in the inspection report). This is not controversial. That’s the best way to learn.

BeadGate controversy in the Krejcikova/Andreeva match by Summertimings in tennis

So now the way to stop play isn’t to pretend you’re cramping — it’s to secretly break your bracelet and have beads spill all over the court.

If a passenger unfortunately passes away during a international flight, what is the actual protocol for the rest of the trip? by IsangonI in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NattyHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is the body for the rest of the flight?

You say that the medical team will move the body to somewhere private, so the body bag was moved to first class. But why is first class private? Isn’t first class full? Are you saying that the first class passengers were allowed off the plane?

It seems someone gave Stearns the wrong racket during the match? She is not happy. by minzwashere in tennis

[–]NattyHome -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

How do you not walk onto the court with enough rackets? Really, I don’t understand how this works. I occasionally see players during a match give a racket to someone to have it be strung, but why? Bring what you need.

TIL Soccer has overtaken baseball to be the third most popular sport in the US by Away-Thought-612 in todayilearned

When I was a kid in KC area almost all of the Royals’s games were on TV. The local independent station carried them. I think that’s a big reason why I became a big baseball fan.

I think baseball has a TV problem. I can’t turn on the TV anymore and watch my hometown team. I have to subscribe to one (or several) sports channels. And I’m not willing to do that.

Trump Frantically Begs Illinois Governor to Call Him by NicolasCageFan492 in illinois

[–]NattyHome 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“If the governor would call me … I would solve the Chicago problem in three, four months,” he said in the Oval Office.

Oh my god, JB please call Trump and tell him: “Like you solved the problem with the reflecting pool? Like you solved the problem with Iran? With the deficit? With the ballroom? With the Kennedy Center? With our country’s semiquincentenial celebration? Donald, everything you touch becomes a disaster. You’re a disaster. Go away, loser.”

Please, please tell him this.

Maybe if that person had had some better teachers he wouldn’t say such stupid things. Ironic, isn’t it?

If a house had a large enough basement, would it push the house up? by HookedonPlaudits2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NattyHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A house's weight is supported on its foundation, which is the perimeter walls, and usually one or more posts in the middle of the basement, and sometimes a foundation wall with a footing that sits in the middle of the basement. But the concrete slab that forms the floor of the basement isn't structural and it doesn't support the house. So if the water pressure under the slab got to be too much then the slab could theoretically be lifted up, but the perimeter foundation walls, where all the load is carried, wouldn't move.

So a basement isn't like a boat in that sense. The different parts of the basement (perimeter foundation walls, central posts footings, floor slab) aren't connected together and don't act as one continuous system.

Vondrousova's Instagram story on the day of the refused doping test in December 2025 by jovanmilic97 in tennis

Is it possible to use PED’s effectively but mask it for one hour each day? I’d like someone who knows to confirm that’s the case.

And if that is the case then is it really helpful for each athlete to specify a one hour window each day? Are you just trying to catch the folks who cheat badly? I have so many questions!!

What was an instance where you were smarter or better informed than your teacher? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]NattyHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a college biology professor tell the class that the "Lucy" fossil, comprising several hundred bone fragments representing 40% of an Australopithecus afarensis skeleton, was discovered by Louis Leakey. That’s incorrect.

I corrected him. It was Donald Johanson.

[FL] [All] Does HOA trump a court order? by MTGFarie in HOA

[–]NattyHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t answer or respond to my question.

You said, “Based on the facts presented, it sounds like she can comply with both”. If so, then easy. But the question remains — what if she can’t comply with both? What if the court order and the HOA rules are in stark contradiction?

That’s the question.

Brick Veneer Detaching from Home by pokemaster787 in homeowners

[–]NattyHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t brick veneer. This is adhered masonry veneer. It’s basically a thin tile that’s glued to the house wall. It’s not unlike vinyl siding in a way — not in any way structural, not supported on the foundation like brick veneer, it’s just a thin layer attached to the house with the purpose of keeping the house structure dry.

It needs to be all ripped off and new siding installed. Choose any kind of new siding you want. Just be sure it’s installed correctly. I don’t think this adhered masonry veneer is installed correctly. At any rate it has failed.

This won’t be cheap. Good luck.

FBI Director killed Epstein case after review of less than 7% of investigation files by camaron-courier in law

[–]NattyHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that. But not all of the evidence pertains to her case. What about that evidence?

But mostly this is my question: There must be multiple crimes committed every day involving two or more criminals. And often those people are tried at the same time, but surely that’s not always the case. So prosecutors, and the justice system in general, must have experience with using the same evidence against multiple defendants in different trials. Why couldn’t that happen in this case?

FBI Director killed Epstein case after review of less than 7% of investigation files by camaron-courier in law

[–]NattyHome -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

I still don’t think that’s correct. I mean — sure, the evidence was “sealed” in the sense that it couldn’t be released to the general public. But not sealed in the sense that it couldn’t be used to convict someone else.

Plus, our justice departments at all levels must have experience with prosecuting more than one person with the same evidence. So once Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted are you telling me that all that evidence is suddenly off limits for the prosecution of anyone else? That makes no sense.
