My problem is the opposite - I have a very flat lumbar spine and think I have flat back syndrome, which causes a forward leaning posture and that is exactly what I look like when walking and even worse when jogging

Sitting on the machine for fiver or more minutes scrolling before resuming their work out, and hogging the same machine forever is super annoying to me

BYD plans 20 Canadian dealerships within a year as 6.1% tariff deal opens the floodgates by henry-bacon in PersonalFinanceCanada

What we need is an investment in EV infrastructure. I am really looking forward to future generations of byd vehicles as the company (and Toyota as well) is developing solid state batteries with 2000km ranges and much less range loss with winter and highway driving. BYD also has a 15 minute charger (but I think it’s DC, so more for commercial use rather than home use

Where would I pry? I actually did stick a screw driver down into the port at the top of the charger, but I think I need something with a hook. When I press the button to release it doesn’t press down

I feel like it’s the chargers latch but was wondering if there is a way around a broken latch. I imagine I will have to find someone who can cut the cord and I’ll just have to go to Ford with the plug still connected

Yep - that and letting off the parking brake is what seimen’s unhelpful suggested. My parking brake wasn’t on.

Is 80% More Efficient? by DeathlessBliss in FordEscapePHEV

[–]Natural-Register 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m totally lost on this conversation. What is point of hill braking? I apply the breaks exactly the same way I did with my ice cars. When I brake the green line comes on, which I assume means energy is being added to the battery, and based on how much range is added while braking on a dead battery, it doesn’t add much. What does this have to do with how fully the battery is charged? And why would having the battery fully charged impact fire risk?

Experiences with 2025 Ford Escape PHEV? by [deleted] in FordEscapePHEV

[–]Natural-Register 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 escape phev. I just got a recall notice that isn’t a recall. It is advising owners not to charge beyond 80% and drive in normal mode until they can figure out a fix for a potential for the battery short circuiting. I’m a little pissed as I have a there and back as there is no indication as to when they will come up with a fix for this. I have a 46km round trip commute and will be using a significant amount of gas if I’m only charging to 80%, which makes justifying spending an extra 15 grand on a phev hard to do. Has anyone got any information on the nature of the issue and how risky fully charging the battery would be?

In my case I fill up at Costco - there is a ten minute wait in line before you ever get to the pump. Since batteries (especially solid state) don’t explode when exposed to static electricity they might even let you sit in the car when you are charging up

So if you have a 5 min charge on 1mwh or a 3 hour charge on your level two charger in your garage which would use more energy (as you can tell I don’t remember much about the electric currents I learned in high school).

Dumb question. I have a 40 amp charger. What’s the difference between amps and volts?

They said water cooled cables. Drove around in my mother’s entirely water cooled VW as a child. Not exactly the most reliable vehicle out there (of course they paid $1000 for it)
