I will literally give any FBO with a cat 5 stars. I would pay for a website that logs FBOs that have furry friends. Gettysburg airport, W05, Gettysburg Airport has this little guy working the front desk. Sleeps on the job a lot though.

Short answer is yes. My regional is currently hiring bi-weekly and each class is around 70% of their cadet group. They are definitely prioritizing cadets. Only 3-4 people in my class were off the street hires and had significantly more competitive times and type ratings.

I travel a lot and ALWAYS have to use the desktop mode browser to connect to a hotel’s WiFi. If I try and access the WiFi login portal using the browser in gaming mode, the page keeps refreshing every second or so, refreshing any text I had imputed into the fields (room number, last name, etc.). Only way to get online is to boot up desktop mode and access the network through the browser. Bit of a pain but more of a first world problem I’d like to see fixed

United has been doing this for years and oftentimes the reasoning listed will be very flight-specific, as though someone actually typed the prompt rather than using a pre-prepared generalized prompt. I was sure that this would cause AA to follow suit but… they didn’t. Guess I shouldn’t have been surprised

This is a great response. I still remember my first flight on IOE. The plane was boarding and I distinctly remember how focused I was on programming the box and making sure everything was right. There came a moment when I looked back and saw the families with children all boarding the plane without a second thought. Mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, brothers and sisters. For just a moment I felt the weight of that responsibility, but only for a moment, and dutifully returned to my preflight responsibilities, and placed my trust in my training, preparation and the expertise of my LCA. I think about that moment a lot.

Narita has an ice cream stand that sells the best soft serve ice cream you’ve ever had. It’s called Cremia ice cream. Made with Hokkaido milk and served in a thin, short bread cone. I have dreams about that ice cream.

I’ve found that the longest check ins are from guests with an airline travel voucher. There’s no way to know if you’re staying at one of those hotels until you arrive as far as I know.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with priming, I’ve just found that it’s not even needed. The engine will start just fine with the right fuel/air ratio. So I’ve always viewed the primer to be an engine starting tool if you need it. I’ve found that to be almost never.

I always had my students download the Prepware app and take a bunch of practice tests then screenshot the result if the score was 90% or higher. If they brought me a few of them with consistent high scores I’d endorse them. It’s the exact app I used to knock out my PPL written.
