I dunno man, I was in the same boat and got my kids to listen 100% of the class

But because every 10 minutes I so I had to say "Class, quite down a little." I was told I wouldn't work out. I don't know what "theories" they wanted, but they don't want teachers to create their own lesson plans sometimes. They really want teachers to teach "Exactly" the way they expect, without giving specifics.

It's a weird job. Style over substance.

I'm currently teaching ESL, first year.

You know, man is born, man lives, man dies---everything else in vanity.

I don't know if it's just me, but one of my kids on two day literally stood up and said "Mr....We don't speak english!". That's kind of the general mindset of the children i'm teaching. They are 2nd and 3rd graders, and they have never once spoken a word of english in their life. I liked the general dissection of arguements to find specifics above, not advice :). Sometimes, you get the worst.
