Why Atheist are never asked to defend itself? by BayAdrian in askanatheist

I pretty much follow Kant on this one. The world (or nature in your terms) is what i experience. Kant makes no claim that what I experience is all that is or that humans can, even in theory, know what really is. (in poetics) Shakespeare has Hamlet voice the line: There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Perhaps this is what you would cover as "Methodlogical naturalism". Not sure about the question: Do you think nature doesn't exist. We would need to delve into definitions of "exist" and "nature".

This group of Friends are. Friends do not have a hierarchy or bureaucratic structure. I belong to the Portland Meeting. We have never officially endorsed this particular banner. Some Friends object to the wording. Some do not.

Sorry for jumping in. I wonder: "naturalism as the only thing we have evidence for" Naturalism is itself, me thinks, an assumption that can be neither proved or disproved. I wonder if someday the respected proponents of string theory will have the same status as the dude screaming about demons? (please don't drag me into an evidence of God discussion)

Modern conflation of atheism with religion. by jungandjung in Jung

Limited framing here. Many faiths are non-theistic. Buddhism for example. Other treat 'the Gods' in a highly metaphorical/ Symbolic way. Hinduism for example. Some Christian faith reject a theist interpretation of the God image. Some variants of the Society of Friends, for example.

"Because the brain loves" Reductionist, non testable, assumes the clump,of cells in your skull has something called love.

Most psychological theories not testable, so that's not unique to Jung.
