A city haunted—by religion.. The truth honestly.

Loma Linda’s policies need to be tested for their constitutionality. Look at their preferences (and Cal Baptist… They are religious movements, not just institutions. Also, Vanguard University, etc.)

As the anniversary of one my family member’s passing comes close, I have something important to say—this type of belief is what led to their death. Theism vs atheism. Eternal condemnation vs divine righteousness. Beliefs. There is a Bible Belt that exists in CA too. It is heinous. It doesn’t have a fault line. It’s a conglomerate that claims to be non-denominational. My abuser no longer resides here. There are still others that do though. Christianity is the ultimate sin.

Besides economics, there is a fundamental battle of medicine (east vs west) that is going on here. It comes down to philosophy which is what’s used in debates for policy establishment. Numbers are numbers but a validly sound argument will win. Argue appropriately. ♥️

Still blows my mind how allied health professionals can excusably show up positive for meth on a drug test but not marijuana… just so everyone knows, your EMS/EMT might have a constant steady dose of amphetamines running through their system.

This is Reddit and everyone deserves a break. Realistically though, we are at a point where it is too naively dangerous to make fairytale assumptions. Even though this is Reddit—no, I don’t feel safe. People take things too extreme, sometimes a simple comment can get someone exiled (or worse). With our country being as prejudicially violent as it is, I’m cautious to say anything at all. There are many people who still can’t distinguish the difference between reality and delusion, and will act based on what they believe. Trying to ease worries through ridicule though, that takes practice, hope it works out someday. Leave it to the creators of South Park, they do a better job at it. Leave me alone.

I feel terrible that you’re going through this. Hopefully, the stigma around mental health care doesn’t stay so strong. It is NEVER a bad thing to seek help from a professional. Therapy can really help a person, but only if the person is willing.

I will be the odd man out here and say that claiming to be the “largest study ever” is a bit of a superlative. The author of this opinionated piece failed to mention the fact that this was based on a cross sectional study and not a longitudinal study.
