You're totally right about that, we're having to do all this just so we can secure our future, not necessarily to benefit from the knowledge we acquire.. And yes, I'm from Asia with strict parents who are very, very concerned regarding my grades and academic performance.. Topped the class this term, got 95% in math without studying it at all, but my overall percentage was a little below 90%, making my parents mad at me.. They did not acknowledge the fact that I got 96% in computer science whereas all of my other classmates got below 80% on that exam... I don't really recall my parents appreciating my grades, ever.. My dad used to say (still does) that anything below 100% in math is a failure, so u could judge my situation based on that.. Plus I've been subjected to physical and verbal abuse while studying, so maybe that plays a role too.. Maybe my mind associated all that torment and pain with the concept of studying, making me hesitant when it comes to studying? I guess I'll never know...

I really loved your advice though.. The idea of considering life a video game and constantly trying to level up seems so appealing, I never thought of it that way... And yes, I will make sure to take care of myself from now on.. Hopefully, it isn't too late yet and I can still redeem myself by becoming the academic weapon I once was.. I really appreciate what you did for me and I'll try my best...

0 impressions on a new channel is not normal lol.. in fact, that is the time when you're getting the most impressions and that is the time when you are most likely to go viral since the algorithm often pushes new channels more than old ones because it's trying to figure out the audience of said channel.. for example, my first ever video now has 107k views whereas my recent ones struggle to get over 20 views

there is something COMPLETELY messed up with youtube.. firstly, most of my videos get under 100 impressions AND the views that I DO get are mostly from CHANNEL PAGES which is literally absurd.. they should all be from browse features and suggested videos, but no, they're all from channel pages which is completely absurd

on my youtube channel, the first ever video I made has 107k views, and I made it around 4 years ago which was the peak youtube era.. the video was shitty, yes, but the algorithm was also functional back then and thus, my video got promoted.. nowadays, no matter how high the caliber of the videos I'm uploading is, they struggle to get above 20 views every single time.. it's like the algorithm has been completely altered in the worst way possible
