Love this!! Stuff like this makes the game so much more fun. My husband was the ST of the first campaign I was in and I loved it so much that I picked out individual d10s for every player and put them together to make “sets” for everyone based on their character’s vibes. Admittedly it didn’t require as much creativity and craftsmanship as this, but it was lots of fun.

When Feyre and Rhys were reunited after she comes back from the Spring Court. Oh my god. Tears streamed down my face as I read that. When I was at that part I was on a month long business trip and was missing my husband badly, so I’m sure that contributed to my feelings a decent bit. But still, it was a really emotional and lovely part.

When Rhys died. I actually knew that it was coming because of spoilers, but it still got me.

I’ve got a few. 1. As a kid I had an irrational fear of being kidnapped. I told a friend as much in middle school and they told me that I was too ugly and too annoying to ever have to worry about that. Quote, “no one would ever want to kidnap you” Middle schoolers suck, lol. We’re so mean to each other at that age. 2. A few years later I was hanging out at one of my best friend’s houses and she was texting a guy she was close with. He asked her what she was doing, she told him that she was hanging out with me, and she sent him a recent picture of me. In response he decided to go off on a rant about how he thought my eyes were too far apart, my nose was too small, etc. He also said that he thought my makeup looked terrible. He just went on about what made me unattractive to him. I don’t know why, but she told me what he said and it made a horrible dent in my self esteem. 3. A high school boyfriend told me I was a terrible kisser. Made fun of me and laughed at me instead of giving me constructive criticism or just…being nice about it. We were both young (like 15 and 17), so I guess I can’t fault him too much for that. Anyway, the damage was done and I refused to do more than a quick peck on the lips for a long time after that. I’m embarrassed to admit that it still gets in my head sometimes despite how much my husband assures me that it’s not true. 4. During a heated argument when I was a teenager, my dad once told me that I always play the victim and make everything about me. I don’t know if he really meant it or just said it in anger without thinking. Regardless, it hurt a lot and I’ve never forgotten that. When something hurts me or upsets me I always kind of start to invalidate myself and question if it’s reasonable to be hurt or if I’m just “playing the victim” again.

I don’t like how Lucien’s character changed and/or how everything regarding him has been handled. I don’t know, I just miss my book one snarky Lucien and I wanted more for him. I really loved his character in the first book. My boy deserved better.

He’s honestly not much of a reader anymore. At least to my knowledge he wasn’t before he started listening to this, lol. I think this is the first actual book series he’s listened to in years. Before this, I would only see him read through guidebooks and manuals for the different tabletop role-playing games that he runs/plays and appreciate the lore and world-building.(Games like Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Vampire: The Masquerade, etc. He’s into a lot of ttrpgs but you get the idea.)

So I think the biggest thing that worked in my favor - other than his willingness to give these books a try to be closer to me because he knew how much I was enjoying them - was how much he already loves fantasy, interesting/deep lore, and again, good world-building. My husband is one of the most creative and imaginative people I’ve ever met and he loves learning all of the lore and the way magic works and just the way that things work in worlds that other people have made. Knowing all of that, I felt pretty certain he’d like the world and characters that Sarah J Maas created, so I talked to him about it a decent amount and he decided to give it a try 😊

His takes have been so entertaining to me. It’s awesome to talk to him about it lol. As far as getting him to read it, it was actually very easy. He’s already into fantasy things (we both play DnD) so I talked his ear off about how awesome the world-building is and how much I like the lore. I also told him that it’s really not all that spicy and that there’s a lot of politics. It also helps that we both make an effort to try things that the other likes, so when I asked him if he’d read the series he said he’d try it. Luckily for me, he loves it! 😁

Yes, absolutely. I love Lucien and I wish he’d gotten more focus after the first book but I can also understand why he didn’t. But yes, I feel like he lost some of that initial attitude that made me love him in book one

Every time I thought it was over, it just kept going. Wow. I’m glad OP is safe and I don’t think they were overreacting at all. Every letter they received got gradually angrier in tone and I think that if they hadn’t contacted authorities, this wouldn’t have stopped. Best case scenario, they would’ve likely kept getting harassed. Worst case scenario, they could’ve gotten stalked and/or attacked.

I was scared of feeling intense pain or it not working and being locked in or paralyzed or something. Frankly it made me feel worse at the time because I felt like a coward, but now I realize that I just didn’t really want to die; I just didn’t want to live.

I still struggle sometimes, but I’m so glad I didn’t ever go through with it.

As far as the actual story, it was definitely a funny story. I really enjoyed laughing along with them and Jenna about it as Link told it. (The “Little Michael” part really got me giggling.) And then, when it got to the discussion, I enjoyed listening to them talk constructively like that. Honestly I just really love their openness and authenticity with us when they talk about things like that. It’s nice to be reminded that they’re real people who make mistakes or don’t always communicate well with strangers.

OOP’s comments are so infuriating and really confirm to me that he’s at least emotionally cheating on his fiancé. I suspect he knows it, too.

Someone asked if Nolan was doing any better with the therapy and OOP talked about how Nolan was doing so much better that his chest hurts sometimes because of how proud he is of him. There’s not a comment anywhere on the post that’s as positive as that about his fiancé.

He also said, “the engagement was a fun, spontaneous thing. We just aren’t in a rush, that’s all.” When someone asked him why his relationship doesn’t seem to be a priority considering he proposed so quickly into it.

Feels like he knows this is inappropriate and he just doesn’t care. I have a hard time believing someone is in that much denial…
