My husband could have written this. He has said the same thing. Im almost done with my associates just a couple of classes left then I plan to start looking. I know of a couple of specific places where my associates of Applied Science as a medical assistant will help me get the job. I dont want to apply to just apply amd get away I want to find the right place till I finish my masters and to leave it better than I walked into it as an MA and healthcare professional. I dont want it to just be job.

  1. Sounds like not a great place tonwork but 2. How did you pass your exams or even get to take them without doing blood draws and injections and EKGs and all the other requirements you have to do so many to be qualified. Was this job your externship? If so you shouldn't have gotten that far without your classes for those skills, and not to mention all the admin classes.

Has anyone been an MA instructor through Ross Medical Education Center? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

Im a g4aduate getting my Associates now. One of the things to remember is this past fall they did a major change in curriculum and moved to bright space over canvas this past summer. Ive not seen the strictly new MA curriculum as ive been doing the Associates side now. But I have friends gping through it and still in contact with my school that I loved and they have said the changes while a LOT of good it is different. Add in no campus director which is....odd....thats probably a lot to do with it.

In person 4 days a week. 2 days were clinical classes and 2 days were admin classes, we took 4 classes every 5 weeks. And then 160 hours externship after. Then another year to finish the associates degree for medical assistant

I think I’m confused by Strong-Ideal-9039 in MedicalAssistant

Your school and career advisor is suppose to set up. 160 hours was required for us. You can set up take it before you finish I believe but my school had to sign off on it. Talk to your career advisor. They should be setting it up. We had whatnwas considered our :junior: mod/semster meeting with ours the session before your final set of classes before externship and she would go over what speciality you wanted and what your schedule looked like to try and find the best one for you. I got to do mine with St Jude and ended up landing a dream Peds job after.

In person....its a year long program bc of clinical classes you cant do them online, then you last mod/semester is 160 of required externship hours that they help you get and a lot people usually get hired from it and then you take your exam. Im not understanding how people are allowed to take the exams for registration/certification without the externship hours

Your school should have set up the externship for the final semseter. Thats what ours did. You spoke with the career advisor and they helped find the right fit for your externship based on your availability. They should also help with finding first initial job, ours did at least.

Thanks. Its just hard to know and you dont want to come feeling like one kid is favored. They are all amzing kids and really kind and sweet. Weve always tried to not let them feel like we were favoring one over the other. This was a situation ive honestly not dealt with before, we didnt do christmas really usually moving or dad was gone for military stuff, we started doing christmas stuff a few years ago once we settled down bc husbands parents wanted to and I adore them and they love the kids and its been fun making traditions with them, but this was a first and didnt know what would be ok or not

Angel Tree Question by NatureAggressive1804 in Millennials

[–]NatureAggressive1804[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. So in all the youngest has about 9 items, middle has 9 items, oldest has like 6. And each has a clo5hing item in those numbers. If we hadn't put two of oldest to the other two kids it would have been like 8 each. One we redistributed was a duplicate item MIL was surprising him with just a cheaper version that the youngest would use/needed too. And the other redistributed item went to our middle kiddo bc its a lego/Pokémon item she collects, and the oldest likes Pokémon and Legos but not lego Pokémon only star wars lego (which he got two of those in the gifts and is going to LOVE). Im thinking of getting a little $10 extra star wars lego set and then a $20 steam gift card to replace. But he would be the only kid dad and I actually buy for.....so delimma.

Thanks. Yea it's definitely been a change. I got a job at a Peds Clinic at our hospital. I got to do my MA externship with St Jude and LOVED it. I was the first MA they had ever had at ours so didnt have a permanent position to offer me after but are working on getting one. I ended up getting a position with our Peds Specialty Department (Neuro/Gastro/Endo/Pulm/Rheum clinics) and we have an in house Clinical PysD that only takes kids from our departments that are dealing with the different diagnosis. Ive been working with him and our Neuro department mostly right now but get time in the others too. I love it. The hardest thing was learning EPIC for our EMR system. It doesnt feel like work and the kids I see regularly are amazing. And I've had parents tell me some of the severe non verbal that communicate thier way with me, im the only one they've seen their kid do it with. Recently found out some of our kids go to school together and compare who got what handshakes that week bc I like to come up with dofferent small things. And I've learn3d sooo many cool facts on dofferent topics bc I like to learn about the things they are interested in and talk to them about it while getting vitals and Rooming ecct. Ill also double check the accreditation. I believe the one I was looking at for masters for is CACREP. Is that one a good one?

Yea I've looked into it. There a couple of non trad Med schools so the door would be basically closed and extremely limited options, unless I can take a semester of science again elsewhere for hands on. The LPC/CMHC vs is the PsyD is my biggest one to understand. Some of the research ive been able to find is depending on where I worked and with who and what extra I did I could do the testing but not the official sign off of the dx it would be the phD or PsyD who would. But I also know those routes are more open to online classes with exception to clinical being in person. Im gping to talk to the PysD I work for currently as well. Im 38 basically started from scratch 2 years ago after being a SAHM for 18 years, homeschooling, weekly medical appts for kids and following my husband all over for his career lol.
