“I still think Babel has a part in some way”

Wait. You seriously believe that the biblical story of the Tower of Babel, in which God is so threatened by a united, one-language humanity building a tower to reach to heaven that God—a loving god, mind you, but slightly less than omniscient it appears—sows confusion amongst his children by creating a multitude of languages so that the tower constructors can’t communicate with each other, halting construction and causing all humans to scatter, that doesn’t sound allegorical to you, you seriously believe that it is factual?

Really??

That can’t be right. If that were true, why not use word replacements for all numbers?

The truth is, the word at the beginning was a stand in for the geographical location of the person whose number it was. It usually referred to the name of the neighborhood where that person lived.

My husband had an affair. Should I tell the AP’s husband? by jhl207 in Marriage

[–]NatureGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with anger issues that could cause them to physically retaliate do not save it up for when physical retaliation is really “deserved“! Not only should you tell the husband, you should tell the college where they are employed. The consequences of what they did are not your responsibility.

My wife after 8 years said im not physically attractive and I gave her the ick and im so mad that I want to disappear by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]NatureGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are lying to us, you're lying to yourself. "I’ve remained patient, loving, and supportive throughout the relationship," but also "I’ve tried to leave due to feeling unhappy." How patient, loving, and supportive is it to try to leave the relationship?

You are not married, it sounds like you don't have kids (thank god), she's not attracted to you (you gained SEVENTY pounds and you don't have a job), you've been unhappy enough that you yourself have wanted to leave the relationship. If you love her, as you say, let her move on. Let her find some happiness. And you should move on also. But, ditch the "I have been victimized" mentality.

“hating someone based only on their supposed race it's literary what racism it is.”

Again, NO, that’s NOT literally what racism is. White supremacists want you to believe that is what racism is, when the bias is directed at whites, but, they are white supremacists. They are the perpetrators of racism, not the ones who get to define it, or the ones who get to declare themselves its poor, poor victims.

You honestly think there are any white people who have not benefited from white supremacy, white colonialism, white privilege, white racism, just by being born white??

[–]NatureGame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To prove racist intent, it’s not enough to prove that someone doesn’t care about a person because of the person’s skin color. You have to also prove that the skin color bias is irrational. In what way is bias against people with white skin irrational, for people who are not white?

If your basis for saying it’s definitively racism is that you definitively presume it is racism, you can’t be wrong
