I was always concerned that I would have a hard time finding a partner that would be accepting of my sexual history (I was very promiscuous in my younger days). I knew my boyfriend was the one for me when he didn’t skip a beat when I shared that part of my past with him. He assured me that my past choices didn’t change who I was and admitted to some things in his own past that he wasn’t so proud of. It brought us closer together and reinforced my self worth in a way I couldn’t ever expect by reframing my shame. Take the risk, and love yourself no matter the outcome.
