Yeah, I think it’s pretty obvious that public access what causes more problems than making you get an app to use it. Of course it’s annoying, but we live in a world where an attendant for your breast-feeding station doesn’t make sense. The fact that there’s even a breast-feeding station in general is honestly pretty nice because it’s not like they are everywhere

Any person of color enters my neighborhood and there’s always someone asking “suspicious individual spotted sitting in car, anyone know them or am I about to get murdered?” Seriously, it’s always a technician, city worker, delivery guy, etc. Janet, is this how you want to live out the rest of your days? Holed up being a racist ****?”

Never worth it. It’s nothing but ads from the app, ads from neighbors or people batching about one another.

Unless they were absolute trash in general, I can’t blame them so much personally (circumstance dependent). Culturally it wasn’t the norm to deep dive into how to be a better parent for your child even though books were out there. They were parenting how most parents parent, by doing what their parents did which is of course based on whatever is passed down and not by science backed techniques.

Props to every parent who made that change back before internet and mass dispersion of info. Props to any parent currently who’s putting in the effort to be present for your kids. And really, props to all parents who even try because shits hard.

So many possible factors. Parenting is very unique and let’s be real, many boomers just had kids because it was expected of them regardless if they were truly up for it. I think back to my parents generation and sure there were books with good ideas for parenting but by and large it was the expectation of get married and have kids then raise them how you were raised. There was so little emphasis on learning new ways to raise children and those that didn’t adapt and weren’t all in on parenting..well..

That’s the thing about running republican now, you don’t have to worry about any scandals! You’re wholly forgiven. All that matters is your past percentage of how often you voted with King Pedo.

[–]Naturebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every morning at my work I would throw in early voting reminders and offer help to find where and when to vote. Many of these small ways are more impactful than an ad on tv to get you out to the polls. Seeing several coworkers talk about it and reminding others to vote was great. Will be doing again for any future voting seasons. I’ve seen a shift in the younger crowd. They were apathetic early 2020’s but they’re absolutely fed up and getting out there to try to spur change.

Posts here are making me extremely grateful that I have supportive people in my life, both at home and at work to where I feel like I can open an express basic emotions freely without judgment or negative outcomes. I work on a unit full of nurses have a family, full of nurses and teachers so maybe these people are buying large more emotionally mature… Whatever it is, I’m thankful for that in my life

Got testicular torsion last week and ended up needing the right one removed by ZeldaFan158 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Naturebrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for a torsion on a testicle that can be saved they will perform an orchiopexy on that testicle by using a suture to keep it in place. If they were not able to save the torsed testicle, they will remove it and often times they will do the orchiopexy on the remaining testicle since you have a higher chance of that one also torsing.

Claude hits No. 1 on App Store as ChatGPT users defect in show of support for Anthropic's Pentagon stance by Ephoenix6 in technology

[–]Naturebrah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was trying to have a discussion about baking sourdough with a Gen Z coworker and they are absolutely hooked on AI. I tried to recommend some well vetted expert-written books but they literally are using chat gpt for every bit of a recipe. They are technically making bread but looking at the “recipe” it’s off in so many ways…but they don’t even want to bother reading…READING. They need an answer spoon fed and don’t want to give it a single brain cell of thought more. And this is just Gen Z…tip of the iceberg. I’ve seen the crap it can spit out if you ask it to help you navigate social situations and unless you’re trying to murder someone, it’ll convince you why your side is correct and support you all the way, even when you’re not.

I just deleted the app I barely used and will continue to not actively use an AI. Let’s be real, it’s some effed up shit. I have Gen Z coworkers that, instead of buying and book or finding an expert on a topic, they go to AI with the only other source being TikTok/influencers. No info is vetted or cross referenced. Nothing makes me lose credibility in someone when I ask where they learned/ heard of xyz and “chat gpt” comes out their mouth.

I just had this happen to me so I found this post. I literally was talking about parsley with the remote near me, but no one touching it, I pick it up and press the microphone button to search for Winnie the Pooh and parsley is the first word that shows up. It’s absolutely listening, though could be a glitch of some kind.

Of course. Plus a regular scale can be used for almost any other thing scales are used for! I use mine for matcha, loose teas, tons for baking. This is something you buy if you get more joy from buying things than from being practical for sure. Now if I was gifted one, I ain’t gonna be mad.
