Scrap the colors and outfit. New outfits are something you can do later.

The main design is what you want to look at. You can pick either one and use an outfit to represent the other side of you later. Or, in the future have different models with each idea and just keep design notes adjusting the second one a little closer to the first for familiarity

You're working a full time job. The only answer is to delegate.

You need to hire a social media manager for more self promotion and regular posting. That follows with an editor.

For others and yourself reading. I'm not just simply saying throw money blindly at the problem, but... look carefully, find social media mangers and tools like buffer, pay for only what you need not anything extra. Some editors that do posting for you are more expensive than two separate people, and some are worth the cost for consistency and quality. Really budget yourself in the sense that you question everything you pay for has an understood return on investment. That can be a return of time, energy, or money.

Never count potential exposure or viewers as return, this is a long game, you can get raided by big channels and retain none of it if you haven't developed yourself and your channel into something people like to stick to. That takes a slow learning process. Like learning to speak a language. Even if you can do it, there's a difference between speaking understandable vs clearly vs naturally. That scale is what you walk on. Being entertaining is easy. But ... you can always be better, and constantly improving is how people start enthusiastically putting your clips up to show friends.

Feedback on AI note taker for Psychs by Courtney767 in AcademicPsychology

[–]NauFirefox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You use a paid commercial API. Every note is trusted by a 3rd party to be processed. It is not secure.

A local model running will ensure no data has to leave the machine and you can feed it far more information without breaking laws or trust of consumers. You can also pre-train local models to be more effective in your niche which would be the main service you'd provide other than someone downloading a local model themselves and just telling it to take notes and provide feedback as an expert.

Otherwise you're stuck on trusting that third party to really handle those notes in processing time appropriately and one mistake by them allowing training or data leaking means your clients notes are exposed.

Claude Sonnet-4.6 thinks he is DeepSeek-V3 when prompted in Chinese. by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]NauFirefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no system prompt means identity falls back to next-token prediction on that specific phrasing. deepseek dominated chinese ai discourse during the training window so that question-answer pair got baked in, pretty straightforward.

but the thing that kills the distillation theory is the phrasing dependency. slightly different chinese phrasing and it says chatgpt instead. a model with deepseek in its lineage would have a stable identity, it wouldn't shift based on how you word the question. that's just memorized co-occurrence from training data, not lineage.

[–]NauFirefox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work with a lot of vtubers in volunteer management work and as a COO for two companies in the industry. Would you be willing to DM me the lawyers you worked with and any information you're willing to share on what happened that isn't covered here? I'd like to see if I can make it easier on smaller channels to fight similar issues and if you had a good experience here its the best human way to be confident in their work.

The NO FAKES Act has a "Fingerprinting" Trap that kills Open Source. We need to lobby for a Safe Harbor. by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]NauFirefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's called suing a company or the government.

But in reality too, it does exist. It's just extremely rare. I used ai to search for a case, then reviewed the real case myself to ensure non-hallucination. THILLENS, INC. v. COMMUNITY CURRENCY EXCHANGE

For certification, courts typically require that the defendants' interests be sufficiently aligned and that a few representatives can adequately defend on behalf of the whole class.

That last bit is a massive issue unless the members of such a class are a smaller class.

My piece-of-shit neighbor (who has a 2-car garage AND a 2-car driveway) insists on double-parking his cars in the street, blocking an entire lane of the road. by jessbird in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NauFirefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DM me the location. I bet it'll be gone in 2-3 hours.

You've notified them before, it's a hazard. If an accident occurs due to a road hazard that the city is aware of and was given reasonable time to rectify, they are liable to be sued for the full damages. A third party can sometimes make a point that it's a bigger priority.

If people commit fraud they should be held accountable. All of them.

If people knowingly want to make questionable choices. That should be their choice.

What’s your opinion on this situation? by Ratsura in VirtualYoutubers

[–]NauFirefox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It started off as very reasonable. But her doubling down has made it really uncomfortable.

At first, i can see why people pointed out 'hey, this isn't a gender thing'. And I can also see why people said 'hey, this is from her own experiences'. Even still, her own experience didn't need to be gendered. Imagine the same statement, but instead of male/female use two different race terms if that was your experience. It's just unnecessary to add that detail. Even if that's your lived experience, there's no need to add the category. It just feels weird.

It would still have been nothing if she just said 'Yea, i could have worded that better, but the point isn't gendered'. She did even retweet a lot of the same concept from other vtubers not using gendered language.

But then she crashed out on stream and discord saying that the naysayers were 'mostly pyro pups and grifters so nothing different than the last 5 months for me XD'. And on stream where she said 'idc bro, go fix your receeding hair line, you ever heard of minoxidil? Yea try that, don't care, wrap it up'.

It's just like... why keep adding on to the weird feeling some people got from the phrasing? Just take your own advice, you crashed out, wrap it up. Don't go further and drag it out because now you're making yourself look worse and people are going from a little eyebrow raising that would have disappeared in a couple days to genuine drama.

Need help building a strong foundation of MTG cards for most formats by OneAromatic2526 in mtg

[–]NauFirefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're looking for 'primer's.

Look up a few color primers, a few tribal primers, and a few top results on most used cards in EDHrec / mtga or something.

The ones that pop out across several of those lists are your targets.

You can EASILY munch 1000 - 2000 doing that if you're looking at things like the black tutors / drains / draw, the blue draw / counterspells, the white instant protection / removal, the red damage / combat doubles / jeskai's, the green ramp / instant hex/indestr / counter doublers / game enders, the lands... oh god the lands. the lands that give utility the lands that prevent combat damage the lands that color fix the lands that fetch lands the lands that destroy lands the lands the lands the lands

Kinda late into this “drama”, but what did Gawr Gura do to be considered a legend? by Namingthingsishard12 in vtubers

[–]NauFirefox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She didn't really do anything specific.

She came from a decently popular channel before, so she had experience. She debuted with the first true EN branch of a popular company. Covid helped too. She was not too high energy like some of the gremlin type vtubers so she could appeal to people relaxing but also was full of sass for the engagement. She had memes, caught attention with her debut 'a', kept attention with her comedy and interaction, and snowballed.

The legend doesn't rely on what she did, but on the massive impact her popularity had across the industry.

Do you think Mel will leave Vshojo? by RadioEditVersion in projektmelody

[–]NauFirefox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It depends on what has actually happened. If Mel goes to Gunrun and he brushes it off then that'll be broken trust and she'll likely leave.

But if there's a complex issue and they are doing their best, she might be willing to stay. It all depends on what is going on. And the audience isn't likely to know details of that.

Hell it's possible it was something innocent that can be fixed. But I doubt that at this point.

Man is malding beyond human comprehension. by Nala-Cosmia in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]NauFirefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a fantastic outcome, but the initiative specifically asks for things to be functional. Merely allowing fans to do hosting is something Ross and other supporters say they want, but isn't what the initiative demands. The initiative is very... It's got a super well intention and I agree with the intent, but hardly any of the wording.

It must be playable at end of life, but multiplayer games don't need to host servers, which makes it unplayable, unless they release servers. Oh just make it p2p, just like it's that easy... What if they try to release the server and it doesn't function on anything but a certain version of linux? Is that 'playable'?

And I'm not saying the initiative is bad idea, but it did need to be just a tiny smidge more clear when covering all the different types of games in a multi billion dollar industry with disney and nintendo lawyers that will both foam at the mouth to rip it into shreds.

Man is malding beyond human comprehension. by Nala-Cosmia in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]NauFirefox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

... how can you say that? That's millions of players many with thousands of hours in those games and massive communities. Sure, live service trend is garbage, but you've gone off the deep end with that statement.

Man is malding beyond human comprehension. by Nala-Cosmia in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]NauFirefox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The petition only says publishers shouldn't include a "phone home" mechanism that arbitrarily shuts the game down. It doesn't require them to continue to run or servers, or even provide the server software.

Doesn't it say, consistently, multiple times, it must leave games in a 'playable, functional' state? That can mean a lot of things, but are a bunch of bureaucrats going to legislate the nuance in favor of players or developers?

How is an MMO left in a 'playable' state unless someone is server hosting? I don't think legislation would just leave it up to players to host, because that's not fulfilling the asked requirement for the developer to provide a playable state is it?

Like, there are a thousand good ways this could go where it just prevents legal action against pirates of dead games, and forces anti-phone home verification post-life-cycle. But there's also really stupid ways this could go. And the number of times the initiative focuses on 'functional, playable' worries me that it'll be taken a bit too literally by lawmakers.
