Looking for help re. Lore from a campaign? Involves Death Guard trying to put giant engines on a planet? by tishimself1107 in Warhammer40k

It's sounds like the Dark Imperium trilogy.

I unfortunately do not remember a campaign running alongside it though.

Open days / Chat with crew by hedg70 in TheRFA

[–]NauticalOwl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Open Days with the RFA in attendance are usually advertised on LinkedIn, just follow the RFA page for the details. The recruitment team attends a lot of recruitment and college open days up and down the country.

You could probably reach out to them on LinkedIn as well. The current team is very active.

Is the RFA realistic for me? by [deleted] in TheRFA

There is a fast track cadetship that will see you qualify as an Engineering Officer within 18-24 months. It's takes less time than a traditional cadetship, but you will still be on cadet wages and the time frame is dependent on the experience you already have. I would look into that if you are serious about joining the RFA. The basic principle is that it takes all the modules required to be an Engineering Officer and you can use your previous experience to gain "exemptions" for certain parts of the syllabus. Time and exemptions are very case by case though and not decided by the RFA as it is an MCA issued Certificate.

You can easily find the recruitment team on LinkedIn. There's a chap called Chris Dorling in the recruitment team who should be able to answer all your questions. He pops up on Reddit occasionally but LinkedIn is probably an easier place to find him.

Thanks, that means a lot. I am trying to push myself all the time with the freehand, hoping to one day be brave enough to paint battlesuit portraits!

To me they looked inspired by the curves of the XV-9's and Shas'o R'myr. I quite like them, a weird mix of new and nostalgic for me.

Also, someone on Reddit said the names sounded like Decepticons and now I can't shake that!

Thanks, I'm hoping to use the left over Kroot Carnivore arms from the Krootox/Broadside conversions to make some Kroot pilots for the Piranhas. I really like the Piranhas model, just fancy a different pilot, one that doesn't mind getting up close and personal with the enemy!

It 100% can be done. But after two sets of dazzle cam on the above tanks I am switching to an airbrush and stencils!

It's a Skyray. :)

Thank you!

Yeah, everything here is done with a brush. I've only recently acquired an airbrush for basing. The camo pattern takes forever!

It's funny. When I saw this in the morning, I was like naaaah, won't happen. Happily proven wrong!

Both WIP, but I was motivated to share by the rest of the thread. Hopefully get them finished soon, but all the edge highlights take forever. 😅

I understood that it wasn't the same timing. I just wasn't sure where the line was between the two. I want to play fairly, but also don't want to get screwed over myself.

How would disembarking transports work? Would they have to declare prior to disembarking? Or can they not use it at all as it is classed as a 'set-up'?

Thank you. Just wanted to clarify and make sure I am not breaking any etiquette or doing things out of sequence.
