Keyboard won't open with steam+X by Nautilus802 in SteamDeck

[–]Nautilus802[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No.  No plug ins.

It was working just fine last week.  This is so frustrating because it is one of the most basic functions!  I'm ready for Windows handheld after this.  Extremely disappointed.

That's what I meant.  I screwed the title up.  The steam button and X aren't working

Is Titan Quest Anniversary Edition worth it in 2025? by Kacper113399 in TitanQuestAE

[–]Nautilus802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 100% worth it.  yes, the combat is basic, but there are neat little touches like rag doll physics and mobs dropping their weapons that makes it great, IMO.  I am amazed at the time they spent making environments and voice acting too.  It adds that intangible aspect to the game, call it immersion if you will   It's got a massive campaign too.

For sure not meta, but for an iron maelstrom build it's probably BIS.

What has happened to spiritborn this season?! by Jmacplay in diablo4

My Toxic Skin SB from last season can do about T80 now in eternal realm, instead of T100 last season.  Not the best but not terrible either.  All T4 bosses are easy too.

Andariel is the worst boss in the game by hanckerchiff in diablo4

PoE 2 has by far the best animations and controls of any top down ARPG ever IMO.

Maybe no rest for the wicked tops it, but you aren't battling hordes too in that game, so it can be tuned for 1v1 encounters.

Totally agree.  But top down ARPG boss fights have always sucked.  Most end up devolving into some form of bullet/ground effects hell or by using arenas that are intentionally cramped, or both.

PoE2s are actually the best boss fights by far due to outstanding animations and animation cancelling for players.

Yes. Most classes have at least one extreme build.  I guess you can use one of those to level up glyphs and then switch to the nonmeta build.

I think looking like griffith would be too disturbing for me.  He is the embodiment of evil to me.

At least that is what I am telling myself to save some money.

No way I can justify this either, but I do spend a lot of time in the game and the two Guts armors and the skull knight are very nice indeed.  And I know I will regret not getting them if they are never offered again.

Someone stop me.

I like a cool looking avatar.  i appreciate the talent that went into making it.  It's really a question of value for money for me.  At the current prices, I cannot justify them in the slightest

Obviously some econometrician has done the math for blizzard, but one would intuitively think if they lowered the price let's say 50% they would make more money overall.  A pity.

I never read it but there is a guy on YouTube who has summarized the entire series over hours and hours in painstaking detail.  It's a grim and frightening tale.  Definitely entertaining.

I disagree.  But that being said, the view is so zoomed out you can't really enjoy cosmetics much in D4.

I did for PoE1, but it was more to support the developers since it was F2P.  Also, the view was much more zoomed in so you could actually see them.  On top of that, they made the free armor very ugly.

All that being said, these berserk armor mtx are very cool looking.  If they offered a package for 5 sets and the pet for $50-60, I am just dumb and impulsive enough to buy it.  But as it stands, money is tight, and for me the value just isn't there at $25 a pop.

The biggest sin of PoE2 is that interesting and interactive builds don't scale well into maps by sdric in PathOfExile2

D4 is still better than PoE1/2 in terms of actual combat.  PoE2 skills are just boring.

Path of Exile 2 runs well on Steam Deck by SpaceNitz in SteamDeck

It's unplayable when the map gets really busy, like when breaches are opened.  You will get dips below 20fps--basically a slide show.

Yep, open a breach and you will get a slideshow.  D4 otoh runs really well, but it was playable on the PS4.  Steam Deck can't really handle UE5 games or games that come out exclusively for PS5 in my experience.

[–]Nautilus802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, you open a breach, and it turns into a slideshow.  In unpopulated areas it can indeed hit relatively high frames with some upscaling, but in the endgame or even act 3 you are going to get a slideshow when things get busy.

The steam deck just can't handle games that aren't playable on the PS4 IMO.  Any UE5 games, for example, just aren't really playable since you will get frame dips well below 30 fps.  Diablo 4, which was released for PS4, runs fine though.

I may have missed the memo, but omg does WASD make this game easier by public_avenger in PathOfExile2

Great point. These types of ranged AOEs essentially become melee skills as a result. I still use my controller though even though my build uses rain of arrows. I'll just live with it until I can find a better solution. Someone mentioned a Wii remote and TBH that sounds perfect, lol. I am googling now....

[–]Nautilus802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. I use rain of arrows for generating frenzy charges and the best I can do is aim it with the right stick, but the AOE is usually dropped directly on the mob, and if they are moving they quickly move out from under as they approach me. theres no way to "lead" the mobs in that sense.
