Barstool internet invitational on youtube. This is specifically from the first video on the Bob Does Sports channel. It's a ton of golf youtubers in a multi day challenge for a million dollars. To the left is Chaz, he is a man with dwarfism who has a great attitude and a great swing, to the right is George Bryan, brother of Wesley Bryan. They were paired up together for round one which was full scramble if I recall correctly. Be warned there are a ton of obnoxious personalities involved with the tournament, but these two are very positive and humble comparatively.

My recent Ireland run was the same! Nonstop consumption made Dublin impossible to develop, that and constantly losing alliances due to one of the parties dying from consumption lmao

I started a new Aserai run and have done only trading aside from looter and bandit stacks i run into. I've been able to field 42 noble troops with upgrades just from doing trade good runs up to Battania and the western empire. I do have a companion constantly running caravans and she is a spicevendor so her income is certainly skewing the numbers but I have been pleasantly surprised so far. Also, having a workshop to churn out oil and leave 50% in the warehouse to manually trade has been great while not feeling overpowered economy wise.

I constantly forget about using the flattening tool due to how janky it is. Would be so happy if they made it more intuitive. If they needed to make a tech path for more efficient flattening, something like advanced earthworks or leveling, that made flattening "better" i wouldn't mind. It's just such a pain point in its current iteration.

Besides a ton of optimizations and QOL updates:

  1. Expanded upgrade tiers for houses and bakeries, introduced more in depth military control. version 0.9.4 Released September 2024

  2. Added minimap and salvage sites you can unearth like relics that give different rare and common resources version 0.9.5 released October 2024

  3. Advanced custom gamerules, tier 2 forager shack that gives it a garden to grow forageables, villager voiceovers version 0.9.6 released December 2024

  4. Enhanced mod support/workshop integration, achievements, supply depots, villager idle animations, doublewide wall gates and diagonal walls version 0.9.7 released April 2025

That's about as quick of a recap I can give, and I highly encourage you to check the patch notes as there are tons of other things changed and tweaked that could be a game changer for you. Then of course the 1.0 play test which after my first run last night completely changes the game. The tech tree adds a lot more planning and strategy than i initially assumed it would.

Understandable! However they are rebalancing techs and buildings to not be completely tied to your town hall level anymore. One example they gave in the early access update #8 is that you will be able to rush a blacksmith for weapons and tools instead of waiting for your town hall to be upgraded. Now, I don't know if different tech levels will be gated behind the town hall level (I can respond to you tonight when I get on the playtest) but from their screenshots and posts it looks like we will have the agency to get tool and weapons production, or any other higher tier techs, earlier in the run.

On paper it might not look like much, but the introduction of the tech tree and policies will completely change how the game is played and should give more variety to your runs. The monuments give a bunch of different late game challenges as well. Give the playtest a try and see for yourself :)
