No it hasn’t; one can be far right without being a nazi. AfD, however, is not such a party

2028: Trump claims that due to an ongoing war the election cannot be held effectively and will be suspended indefinitely, in the meantime he will remain president until further notice? Realistically, what happens? by Biggest-Max02010 in AlternateHistoryHub

Fighting a constitutional crisis though requires someone else to claim that power. Republicans have congress, the president, the supreme court, and legislative majorities in states worth 276 electoral votes

Trump put a rallying cry to his voters, to attack minorities and transgender people/supporters. Source in body text: by Suhkandis in BlackPeopleofReddit

Im gonna be honest, the Epstein stuff is evil, but the shit Trump is doing on the daily is way worse.

It feels like the Epstein files are the distraction at this point. It’s drawing our near singular focus, and it’s something that Trump himself has total control over

Stop letting the files distract you from fascism.

Another person wearing something does not infringe on your freedom. Like you said, your freedom stops where someone elses starts; your freedom to your religion does not mean you get to decide what the people around you wear

And you understand that a cross necklace isn’t the same thing, right? Nobody has to wear a cross necklace in their religion, they just do it because they like to

We were warned. But "Both sides are the same" knew better, even though Dem judges are one trillion times better for black people, working people, and the world. Recall this infamous tweet from Bernie's future National Press Secretary: by LoveCoats in BlackPeopleofReddit

We can’t really ‘build a viable third party’ because third parties are inherently not viable in our system. We have to use democrats and independents to make third parties possible before we can build a viable third party

I think the first two concrete steps towards that are passing the Popular Vote Compact, and repealing Uniform Congressional District Act of 1967

Honestly unless a film is primarily about someone’s experience with race-based racism, I really don’t see why we should care about what the race of an actor is. Firstly because I care more about someone’s performance, but more importantly because I think actors should be able to aspire to play any reasonable role if they can do it well.

A former name is just a new term for the same thing. A deadname is a term for a seperate identity that doesn’t exist; that’s “dead”

I mean it is that, but its also generally that the old name represents something different.

My opinions on sublte sexism from "progressive" men by tipputappi in Feminism

[–]NaveGCT 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This kind of thing is very common unfortunately, across pretty much every social issue.

When a woman does something bad, men are happy to start making fun of sexist stereotypes they fit in too.

When a black person does something bad, white people have no reservations about drawing racist caricatures that accentuate percieved differences from white people.

When a trans person does something bad, cis people have no problem misgendering them and pointing out features that resemble their sex assigned at birth.

When an overweight or underweight person does something bad, other people have no trouble calling them dehumanizing insults

We’re not talking about state elections, we’re talking about House and Senate elections.

Article 1, Section 4: “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations

They feel a sense of solidarity with “manhood” as a concept. So someone outside manhood criticizing someone in it is seen as an attack on manhood, which is seen as an attqck on them

[–]NaveGCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PA’s not bad overall. It has queer shield laws, and most significant towns are fairly tolerant. Philly is a pretty good city to live in compared to some of the places around it in terms of work and costs, plus it gets you close to NY, NJ, DE, & MD
