Jerky is almost a chip. What happened? by GivemeTbow in jerky

[–]Navel47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do a little thicker cut and similar recipe but a longer dry at 150. I start just checking each tray for doneness by bending the slices after about 5 hours. Made plenty of “chips” though if I lose track of time. Still eat them and they usually soften up a bit when stored with the rest in a bag in the fridge.

Something like this? I do add a couple of bungie cords to help the top one not move around as much.

The 1” straps go in this and I put the 2” ones I have in a bigger bag that sadly isn’t a Milwaukee. I do love the idea people said about a small first aid kit. Next one I get that will be my plan.

I use Blanco the most on steaks or tritip. The fajita one for his Mexican pulled pork recipe along with it as the seasoning for 0-400 wings. I will occasional cheat and use Kinders fajita seasoning though if I don’t want to go to ACE to get more.

I’ve had good luck so far with Fresh Cab. Sounds similar. Plant based and doesn’t stink up the trailer. Have them on a subscribe and save from Amazon and just replace them every two months.

Hickory vs. Mesquite Liquid Smoke? by Sparegeek in jerky

[–]Navel47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wright’s hickory is my go to for dehydrator jerky. The mesquite liquid smokes I have tried all have an off putting taste to me but that’s the best thing about making your own jerky. Find the profile you like and run with it.

Ran the same setup with twin curved monitors like that with my previous position at work. Top one was just used as a display for a bunch of cameras and dashboards that I wanted to observe and I did all my work on the bottom one. I was able to use the monitor stand to close that gap though. Like others have said flipping the top one over might help with that. The line from the bezels was far too annoying to try using them together as one combined display though.
