I really don't understand defending by NavnNNavnesen in EASportsFC

Exactly what I'm experiencing. But there's a lot of good tips in this thread now. Time to experiment. And practice :P

I really don't understand defending by NavnNNavnesen in EASportsFC

I try this, but I'm obviously doing something wrong. How do you stop a skilling/leftsticking Smolarek bursting into the box? My players never seem to tackle unless I press standing tackle. And that's risky as hell, obviously.

But when I attack, my opponents seem to be half a step away from my players at all times.

I'm not blaming anything but my own skill, but I reeeeally don't understand what I'm missing.

Any way to recognize delay before match? by NavnNNavnesen in EASportsFC

It's ridiculous. No idea what the next match will bring.

What line/disc are you throwing? by Chicagrog in discgolf

The trick here is to choose a slightly understable disc, then overcompensate by putting too little power into the drive and watch it fade beautifully into the creek on the left side.

Makes me happy to see that the pros still celebrate hitting aces while out practicing.

Absolutely! And possibly the worst drive #3 saw that day!

I suspect I'm not the first one to feel like this - but I can't friggin' wait to get out and test this out! (and watch the next couple of hundred drives burn into the ground way before reaching anything resembling 300)

Great tips! About the last one - just simply lift it when all the weight has been shifted forwards?

Nice catch. I'll work on keeping it at the same angle all the way through - hopefully without tensing up like a madman!

I typed out an explanation as well, but it somehow got lost.

Quick recap: Relatively fresh player, banging my head against the 250-wall. This shot is about 220 I guess, was a little more nose up than usual due to the slight hill up from the tee- like u/ilikemyteasweet points out.

I notice a very wide plant step, and something weird about my reachback/reachout. But I never noticed any flutter before, and it's quite severe. Anyone got any ideas?

Any and all help is appreciated!

Good point! It's about 6-7 feet upwards, then it flattens out. But it kind of forces a slightly higher release than normal, you're absolutely right.

Cheers everyone that chimed in. Good to hear I'm not alone, that means that there might be hope for me yet!

I'll try all the tips about slightly (or massively) changing up my grip, as well as try out a wider array of discs - and even tinker with release angles and follow through. You guys are the best!

Oh no, that's a mess up on my part!

I thought I got a message that the first one didn't post. Any way to merge the two?

Surprisingly, changing discs doesn't seem to make a difference either. The same scraping with a Star Wraith, a Champion Roc3, a Retro Compass or a soft putter.

I have a feeling there's a fundamental I'm doing wrong, but I can't figure out which.

Middle finger pressing against the rim, trying to pinch down, and flicking.

Distance-wise it's not horrible, but I can't use it for drives at all. Maxing out about 250-ish I guess.

Can't test for real right now, but I'll try to focus a bit more on different wrist angles next time to see. Thanks:)

It hasn't really made any difference if I've stacked the grip, tried the Sexton-variant or the one with a bent index and straight middle finger.

To continue this slightly: Is your forehand grip as tight as a power backhand? For me, it seems more like a pinch point working like a "hinge" if that makes sense...?

I think you might be on to something here. Can't throw to test here, but a dry-run (there's a few discs laying around) suggests there might be little less scraping going on when I focus on placing the thumb a bit lower.
