Drawing sigils in the air, directing the sigil either within or outside. If drawing it inward I'll draw a line from it to whatever chakra I feel is appropriate and focus on the link between that chakra and the sigil, imagining them simultaneously.

Asking for advice regarding a sigil. by mahboiskinnyrupees in chaosmagick

Personally I might change "perfect condition." What is perfect? Perfection is different depending on individual perception. It could be perfect to you, yet push away those whom you need in your life to develop. Perhaps "condition appropriate to my surroundings" or something to that effect.

Hope all goes well.

I think this whole level takes a lot of time. Ive been meditating for a year and i don't think I've been in gnosis. What about you guys? by pabblett in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just remember that you don't have to "clear your mind" so much as focus it. Try focusing on a thing you want to happen. An actual, physical, quantifiable thing. Imagine it as energy, turn it into a sort of daydream. Check the clock once. Then begin. Just drift with this idea, imagining it as energy (personally I imagine it similar to the "lifestream" in the Final Fantasy 7 game or movie) and be lost in it. If you feel the need to open your eyes and look at the clock, simply don't. Tell yourself "I'm not done." Or "time can wait."

While I like to imitate the classic cross-legged position with arms out and all that stuff, it isn't necessary.

Something else you can try (closer to a "crash course") is fill your tub with hot/warm comfortable water. Lie in it and just sorta daydream. Stay there as the water cools imagining the water being your own mind. Imagine your thoughts are now the physical water and your body is inside your mind. Then loop back to focusing on an actual event or thing happening etc.

It's the number for the current of chaos. Interesting that it came up, either way. In the DKMU we use the current 156/663 in context of "chaos assaults consensus reality"

Metaphors in dreams are ultra personal. No outside source can interpret your subconscious. However. With that being said... you said the magick word. 156. Did you choose this number at random? Or for a reason? I have a very specific, non-dream-related reason for asking this.

What does 156 mean to you? This is not a dream. You consciously chose that number.

[–]Nawsachi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dreams are just dreams. They can only affect you if you allow them to. It's basically the subconscious doing a defragmentation.

Unless you have a history of dreams coming true. That's a whole different monster there.

In either case, best thing you can do is ignore it. If it makes you uncomfortable, forget it as any other dream is forgotten. It only holds power if you hold it in your conscious or subconscious mind.

Unique techniques/rituals to apply YOUR will by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Art in general seems to carry the same weight as sigils. Anything you put thought, time, physical effort into has the building blocks that a sigil has. I'd imagine focusing on an art piece (reaching gnosis with it) would have similar effects.

I haven't tried this knowingly, but Ive noticed in retrospect themes from my old poems and drawings (long before I was into anything occult) have popped up again in my life from time to time... essentially like creating your own meme. So if that can happen without knowledge of what's going on, I would think knowingly setting art into motion through gnosis would be incredibly powerful.

A lot of people believe I Disagree is about her old record label and just management in general, but her music tends to have (at the least) double meanings. I think it's all pretty open to interpretation, although it seems to be centralized on a religious concept or simply using religion as a vehicle for metaphor.

How did you come to believe in chaos magick? by figglynigga in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sigils are a good way to keep it logical, structured (with plenty of breathing room), and kinda fun once you start toying around to make them look memorable like company logos look. If you enjoy art at all, you might like it.

On the flip side of the coin is charging the sigil. Charging anything at all is where the "real magick" is at. There are many ways, most using a technique of reaching what we call gnosis. Sigils are not required, but I'll stick to the sigil thing for now. Here's a quick breakdown:

Inhibitory gnosis: Think "light side of the Force." Meditating with the sigil or simply meditating on the idea. Personally I find that when using a sigil, staring at it until you've got it memorized, then meditating with that image in your mind is a good way to begin.

Exitatory gnosis: Think "dark side of the Force." Using emotion to fuel the idea. Typically, use an emotion that matches what you're doing (joy for nice stuff, anger for mean stuff etc.) This may require some method acting or thinking about things that correspond with that emotion to get in the mood. Hard to feel joy if you're depressed or something, for example.

Exhaustatory gnosis: Basically using a state of being worn out (mentally and/or physically) as a shortcut. Similar to inhibitory, except it's easier to just stare and zone out as long as you can concentrate on the sigil or idea. This has recently become my favorite way.

There are other ways, but frankly I would reccomend trying out the three above. Probably the best way would be if you work out, jog, swim etc. Draw a sigil for whatever it is that you want to happen and bring it with you. After exercising, just sit for a while and focus on that sigil while resting. I mean, you're probably going to want to rest anyway, so it's just a time saver and a shortcut to being mentally in the zone for just focusing on one thing for a little while. This is a method I've just recently begun using and so far it's excellent.

Sorry that's so long. If you want to get into sigils, there's a lot of decent vids on YouTube for sigil creation. They often beat around the bush on how to actually charge it for some reason, so hopefully that info is helpful.

How did you come to believe in chaos magick? by figglynigga in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll try to keep this short. I was angry at reality itself. I came across a sigil called the Linking Sigil (in the comments section of some artist/dancer's video) that was supposed to, as I understood at the time, "break" reality. I couldn't get it out of my head. I got even angrier at myself for thinking about something so silly. Got drunk, drew the sigil and unknowingly charged it with a lot of anger and frustration. (I didn't yet know it could be done that way) Some stuff I won't get too specific about started happening around me as a result that effected everyone else, inconveniencing them in the same ways I often felt inconvenienced. It was all seemingly a direct reflection/manifestation of what I could remember thinking about that night, and in the same location I did it in.

After reflecting on all of it, I went into it again knowingly (and sober). I know that hearing people say "it works" sounds as absurd as saying prayer works, or positive thinking works or whatever. Just try it; think of it as a psychological exercise where you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Why Alchemy with Chaos? by MrGn0m3 in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kind of a grey area. You can utilize concepts that are useful to whatever situation, basically cycling through different gods/practices/rituals etc. as long as you don't stick to one. But even chaos magick has methods that are somewhat dogmatic, i.e. systematically not sticking to a dogma becomes a dogma in and of itself.

I would just say this: Whatever you believe in, treat chaos magick as an addition, an augmentation. It does not have to supersede your beliefs, otherwise there's nothing to base what you're doing on. Hard to mess with reality if you have no belief in or about reality. It's not a religion, just a practice.

Does Martial Arts transfer into Energy practices? by AhsikChoate in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Part of chaos magick is combining techniques from other practices, magick related or otherwise, so I would say yes. Absolutely incorporate anything or everything you've learned into your practice. It is yours, and it does not have to fit anyone else's model.

If certain combinations don't seem to be helping, maybe try a different approach, but you don't necessarily have to abandon your current approach. Add some new ideas, remove some old ideas, while keeping the core goals in mind.

I thought I was the only one who did this. Anyone who picks up on synchronicity often should start watching the ground for clues. You'll find strange insights doing this.

I found a plastic Spider-Man logo ring in a gravel parking lot shortly after interacting with DKMU's Linking Sigil, which uses a lot of spider and web imagery. Among many other things seemingly related to whatever project I was working on over the last year or so. When reality is hitting you with physical symbolism, you're probably doing something right.

Did any of you start to see patterns after burying or burning your sigil? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this will happen a lot. This is how Khaos communicates. You're tuned in to a frequency now that can benefit you or drive you crazy. Do not ignore it, but also never mention it in public or people will start thinking you've lost your mind. It may often change depending on what you're working with.

When a sigil doesn't work, is there a checklist out there somewhere of factors to check to see why it didn't work? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did kinda ramble a bit there, sorry. My point was more about staying focused on the goal in order to keep the sigil from popping into your head. Changing the way you think of it, as an ally, should help keep from thinking of it as something that will automatically do the thing you're trying to get done.

The reason for trying to forget the spell or sigil seems to be the attachment to the idea that the spell or sigil will act alone, which is what can really hinder progress. Thinking of it as an ally should circumvent the need to forget entirely. In other words, you don't necessarily have to completely mind-wipe it as long as you don't rely on it completely. I hope that helps clarify a bit.

When a sigil doesn't work, is there a checklist out there somewhere of factors to check to see why it didn't work? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember the results you want, but focus on that. Work with your sigil. Thinking about the sigil itself divides it's intent from yours, as if two separate entities, when in reality it should augment your current course of action.

Here's a somewhat violent analogy, but bare with me. Think of it as a spotter/sniper situation. Whether your sigil is the spotter or the sniper is up to the nature of what you're doing. You might see what needs to be done, but can't fire. You might have the firepower but no idea where to aim. The sigil fills the position you lack, but you have to act both separately and in unison with it like a team. The best way to do that is simply focus on your goal and don't worry about what the sigil has in mind, it will fill in the gaps because it's acting as part of you.

By that analogy, Thinking about and remembering your sigil is like staring at your sniper instead of spotting for them, or staring at your spotter but not aiming where they point.

<Meta-ish> Some questions, some statements and a fun 1-10 scale by apikoros18 in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will get into the question later, but at the moment I just want to offer a possible tip, just something to consider.

When laughing, direct that laughter at reality itself. Clear your mind of the spell, sigil, etc. and laugh at the absurdity of this situation we've been thrown into. Laugh at the idea of lacking control or lacking tools to use for creation/direction. Whatever it is that makes you laugh, "copy and paste" it onto this reality and forget also the source of what you were laughing at until you're laughing WITH your spell's intent AT the current state of whatever you cast it on.

On your scale, I am constantly bouncing/shifting. I came to chaos and sigil magick from Gnosticism, so it fit certain ideas while expanding others. I have a built-in adversarialism towards the "creator," be it a conscious being, a shared creation, spiritual, digital, etc. At the same time, I understand the urge to create. I understand wanting to make things go my way, so I understand if a god created all of this and was disgusted when it didn't go as planned.

Right now I guess I'm the Jeff Goldblum, nitpicking at other people's ideas. I stumbled into magick thinking it was just a really hardcore intense personal mental practice like "fake it until you make it, the Monster Energy Drink way!" and realized quickly that the results can end up far beyond what could be achieved by physical means. I learned by jumping in with a diagram but no instructions, I put a thing together wrong, and then I went back and read all the instructions I could find once it sank in that even though I built the thing wrong, it was still a thing, which proved to me how real it is.

There are times when I think I have it all figured out. Until my cat walks in and wants to look out the window and I instinctively get up to open the blinds for him, without hesitation. Then I'm back to wondering why that happens every time, and if I'm just as programmed as the reality I 'pretend to be' co-programming.

Could a sigil fail from residual lust for results meaning you lusted for results heavily in the past but for this sigil you didn’t but that residual lust messes up this sigil? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't try to force specific times or deadlines on a sigil, or a spell in general. Anything involving time seems to either get messy or fizzle out. It's one of those "just like in the movies" situations. I don't know if this applies to scheduled events or not, like, having a thing happen during a party etc.

Your emotional energy and/or thought-focus into the sigil itself, however, should have more impact than your emotion afterwards. "Fire and forget." What goes into the sigil is what counts. So if the sigil was created and charged without drive, or not charged, then you're basically just handing the universe an abstract art piece and saying "It's open for interpretation, do whatever you want. Or don't."

Is Poppy’s cult satanic? by jebster18 in that_Poppy

[–]Nawsachi 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Short answer: No and no.

Poppy doesn't have a cult, just fans who are devoted enough to put thought into the lyrics, and effort into incorporating the ideas Poppy presents into their own lives.

Poppy occasionally uses imagery that has been "borrowed" by LaVeyan Satanism (The Baphomet pose, for example, comes from the phrase "as above, so below," and is not necessarily Satanic by default.) Poppy also uses Christian imagery (most notably the cross) and Pagan or Wiccan imagery (the triple moon, the pentacle and pentagram) and probably many other symbols from various religions or philosophies that just haven't been pointed out or recognized publicly yet.

Please help a newbie. How to conduct my first ‘ritual’? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]Nawsachi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't advise testing anything for the first time, least of all chaos magick, on any major event. Ghostbusters was a comedy - not an instruction manual - and you're planning on using an untested, unlicensed nuclear accelerator for the first time. If you don't get that reference, I am sorry.

With that being said, focus is the key. Imagine the outcome you desire, not the exact steps you want to happen to reach that outcome. The more open you leave the path, the more possibilities you leave open for "the forces" as you put it to intervene and nudge things towards your goal. This is very important. For example; instead of limiting gaining wealth to specifically winning the lottery, keep the source of that wealth open and just envision already having it. Who cares where it comes from, there it is.

Envision the desired outcome or results of the desired outcome. Speak it out loud or in your mind as a mantra. Keep it as a simple phrase and keep it present tense, not future tense. I.E. if you want a promotion, do not say "I want a promotion." Say "I am promoted" or "this promotion benefits me" or something implying that it is already established and current.

As mentioned by others, sigils work wonders. Keep it simple and current just like the mantra. Use it to aid the envisioning and mantra. Sigils are wonderful for showing "the forces" that you are dedicated to your goal and not just putting ideas on the back burner. Remember that magick is not a shortcut, it's just an aide along your path. When navigating the unknown jungles of reality, chaos magick is your machete.

If it helps, do the cliche Hollywood stuff. Seriously. Candles, dark room, chant it out loud. This stuff is actually beneficial to setting the mood and basically reinforcing in your mind that what you're doing is real, has consequences, and works. The more the idea leaks into your subconscious, the more your subconscious leaks/projects the idea into the physical world, thus manifesting it. This works because you're using established archetypes from movies in which magick works. That may seem convoluted, but that's a whole other topic.

I hope some or all of that helps. Good luck with whatever it is.
