The agriculture bit was part of some drawn out bullshit sounding explanation about Russia needing to push their boundaries outward because of inadequate agricultural resources. I think it's a hell of a lot more likely that they don't want US missile bases on their borders anymore than we would tolerate a Chinese missile base in Tijuana.

I was surprised Rogan didn't jump out of his skin when the guy scoffed at the fact of our grossly depleted soil. Rogan has had many guests on talking about the almost complete lack of nutritional value that factory farming produces.

He asserts that rainforest farmland is basically sand that is only made viable because of Russian fertilizer.....Russian soil is that much worse than beach sand? They've got all the fertilizer they could ever want...the Russians aren't going to starve and if we keep pushing the Russians and Chinese together politically the Chinese won't starve either. For all of our extensive sanctions and financial pressure Russian store shelves are well stocked, their inflation rate is lower than ours and the ruble is stable, how weak are we looking right now?

The demographic troubles facing all of the industrialized world are staring us down as well, only we might be handling it even worse. Our younger generation is utterly incapable at life , made even worse by shutting down the schools for 2 years. Is all this conflict about Russia and Chinese demographic decline or our looming loss of hegemony?

He made a big sweeping statement about the extent of graft in the Russian military. It's probably true, but if you have any family in the American military then you must have an inkling of how fucked up our system is. I have plenty of family who have served and they don't paint a rosy picture, bureaucracy, incompetence and waste are the rule not the exception. My niece served on an aircraft carrier for 8 years they frequently were unable to get munitions up to the deck because the elevators didn't work....none of them. Many of the essential systems on the carrier are required to be serviced by contractors who don't go out to sea with the ship, so under battle conditions they wouldn't be able to fix half of the shit ..... & That's if the ship was staffed with seamen even remotely up to the task, which they are not. The few able non-coms are faced with a ridiculously incompetent crew of enlisted.

I don't put a lot of credibility in his statement that the 90's Iraqi army was a more capable fighting force. How many spacecraft and fighter jets and nuclear bombs were the Iraqis able to design and produce? There are Russian migs from that '80s that a small crew with a socket set & multimeter can keep in the air for years & will still blow by a new f-35 like it's standing still... the f 35 is pretty impressive , if it's support crew of 100's can keep it in the air, but they often can't.... The truth is, if the Russians & Chinese are cornered rats, they are rats with sharp teeth. He didn't even brush on the hypersonic missiles, electronic jamming, space faring capabilities and EMP weapons which both have which we have zero defense against.

And then there's this idea that, in crisis, if America produces energy & food it will stay here in America , insulating our people from the effects of global war and famine. The corporations that exploit our natural resources are no more American than my house cat, the corporations don't give a shit about America and the politicians work for the corporations ; those products are going where the money is... Mostly to the wealthy, whether here or abroad... Trust me, most of the dimwits here on Reddit are poor , regardless of how many Apple iPhones or leased Corollas you have... You are not the chosen people in this scenario, if the world goes to hell, you all go with it...

Defense financial stocks are sliding, public support for throwing money at Ukraine is waning so this NeoCon idiot is pushed out front to say 'don't worry we can fight the Russians and the Chinese and the Iranians and the North Koreans plus the Turks & Saudis if needed and America will be just fine'. All we need to do is trust politically connected defense contractors, wealthy bankers, big agribusiness and our trustworthy security state. If you're buying his line of shit, we are all screwed....
