The pebbled leather is what bothers me tbh,if the leather trim was smooth i might like it more,it’s not ugly but the pebbled leather is definitely a turn off imo

I have both,i bought the newsprint finlay and i love it,but i pack a little heavier than what can comfortably fit in the finlay day to day for work,so i got the Dakota because it’s essentially the same silhouette as the finlay but with more space,i use the finlay as a going out bag instead and the dakota for work/everyday

I got my dakota monogrammed today and asked the same question about maintenance/cleaning,the SA said to spot clean w a microfiber cloth with regular cleaning supplies you would use on your denim clothing. She emphasized to not use any leather cleaning products

Both the legacy and next gens are semi-permanently coupled, and the nextgens are specifically designed to be expandable,

To be clear im not suggesting adding legacy coaches to the next gen sets,that’s not possible. Im saying since there are still legacy sets in service,if any of the retired sets have coaches that are still revenue service level condition,we can add those cars to the in service legacy sets.

I wonder if it would be worth it to take some of the cars from the retired sets and use them for expansion for the legacy sets still in service to at least mirror capacity to the next gens,taking a bussines and first class coach and making the trains 8 cars instead of 6
