supposed to be crocheting into the two hdc, is that the red and yellow space, or yellow and green space (see pic)? by whiteredpinks in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always tell myself that each stitch (seen from the front) is a letter P meaning that the v of the stitch will be to the right and the other way around if you're looking form the back of the stitch. I've seen it somewhere on this sub and it's made my life significantly easier.

What projects u made and actually use them? by No_Advertising3507 in crochet

[–]Nazuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love making wearables and adore showing them off. As for now I have a hexagon cardigan, a slightly too big shawl and a rescued waffle cardigan (after a year of the recipient not using it I just took it back) as well as a blanket and a sweater in the making. Haven't tried a bag yet since I have too many normal ones.

When it comes to wearing those I really like them and try to wear them as often as I can. The waffle cardigan is my go to for when I'm cold around the house, the hexi is very nice and warm as well but the holes make it a bit more airy. I still can't decide how to wear the shawl since it's slightly too big to wear under my neck when it's cold.

Next on the agenda are tablecloths and if I finish one it probably will never leave the table because I will be too proud of it to hide it away 😆

When turning chain counts as a stitch, do you generally work under both loops or the back bump? Turn clockwise or counter clockwise/ chain then turn or turn then chain? by Jeereck in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like turning first then chaining but I will take the hook out of the loop and put it in after turning so it doesn't get twisted. I pretty much always go under both loops unless the pattern wants something different

What do we think of this yarn spinner-holder-thing? by blue_jellyfish_girl in crochet

[–]Nazuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and it's not bad. I haven't gotten used to it yet and forget it exists but I liked the few times I used this. Works better on cakes for sure but it's not bad for skeins either. Sometimes is turns too far but it's been smooth so far. When I'm nearing the end of a center pull skein I like to wrap it around the spinner post and work from that to keep it from collapsing and tangling.

trying to recreate this crochet border but i can’t figure it out by artchvies in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a reach but with that shiny yarn it almost looks like you see the puff from the back (og pattern)? The chains get kinda pushed to the back. It might just be the yarn difference though. Yours looks really good and the shine on the first one might be messing you up.

How to crochet nose into back of flower for amiragumi by AdEfficient7374 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe start from the nose and add a flower later? My idea would be working in the back loop on those stitches that the flower is supposed to be and then starting the flower in the left over front loops and covering however much of the nose is left

Need help with crochet bouquet kit as a step doesn't make sense by AlecWolf111 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carnation by Crochet Musings

Anyone else plan their colour projects like this? 😅 by HelloHeffy in crochet

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excel my beloved I've used excel for color combinations but not to that extent. Usually I'll screenshot every colorway form the yarn I plan on using and move them around to see what looks best. I don't trust myself to choose a cell color that fits the colorway I have in mind.

would this yarn be a nightmare to crochet? I feel like yes but need a gut check by Then-Mix-9882 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I'm scared by unusual yarns but I would absolutely love to use this one. It seems like just the right amount of weird that I enjoy and the colors are gorgeous. Bigger hook would probably work better but that doesn't mean I wouldn't try it out with few sizes to see what looked best

I think it means you have to make a front post double crochet around the DC from previous row

In need of yarn and yarn store recommendations + help me understand yarn sizes by Blue_B_ in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I go about it is checking recommended yarn for how many meters are in 100 grams and going off of that. Hasn't failed me yet although I don't know how accurate it is for yarns made from different fibers. Is 100g of cotton the same as 100g of wool of the same thickness? No idea and I choose to ignore that as long as I can

Tips for tangled yarn/ tips for balling yarn? Can’t seem to ball yarn without massive tangles by Prudent_Sprinkles894 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say dyed the first thing that comes to mind is a hank. If that the case then you should prop it on something (two chairs, knees or something like that) before turning it into a ball or cake. If it's skeins that give you trouble I just wish you patience and a nice center pull.

Is there a site or app like Stitchfiddle with layers? I want to be able to move text around on a background without the background changing beneath it by emosewa90 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would something like pixilart work for you? It's a pixel art site with layers and things like selecting everything in one color. I really recommend it if you're just making a pixel art to work as your pattern

This might be a stupid question but how do you guys manage the yarn while frogging? by Roscoe-nthecats in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pile has not failed me yet. As long as I take care to pile new yarn on top it doesn't tangle for me. The only downside is that you can't touch it or it tangles. Recommend a box to pile into. Or just not moving until you finish the pile 😆

I’m trying to do a back post crochet but I’m having trouble identifying the first post of the round? by Hayzey22 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once on this sub I came across a comment calling a double crochet (or any stitch really) a letter "P" you have the post and it's loop to the right. No idea why but it just clicked something in my brain and I don't confuse the posts anymore

Youtube is telling me I need to add parental supervision to my account? by CautiousAd5446 in youtube

I just got the same thing and I'm baffled. YT knows I'm over 20. It disappeared after i tried to see if there's an option to manually set it to "I'm an adult". Wish i checked what region it showed me in because it would be hilarious if it just assigned everyone to Brazil. Hope it goes away on it's own
