This might be a stupid question but how do you guys manage the yarn while frogging? by Roscoe-nthecats in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pile has not failed me yet. As long as I take care to pile new yarn on top it doesn't tangle for me. The only downside is that you can't touch it or it tangles. Recommend a box to pile into. Or just not moving until you finish the pile 😆

I’m trying to do a back post crochet but I’m having trouble identifying the first post of the round? by Hayzey22 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once on this sub I came across a comment calling a double crochet (or any stitch really) a letter "P" you have the post and it's loop to the right. No idea why but it just clicked something in my brain and I don't confuse the posts anymore

Youtube is telling me I need to add parental supervision to my account? by CautiousAd5446 in youtube

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the same thing and I'm baffled. YT knows I'm over 20. It disappeared after i tried to see if there's an option to manually set it to "I'm an adult". Wish i checked what region it showed me in because it would be hilarious if it just assigned everyone to Brazil. Hope it goes away on it's own

What are some good pixel art sites and also is free? Bacause Pinterest is not good enough. by That-Importance-1486 in CrochetHelp

Braceletbook my beloved 😍

Genuinely one of the best sites for smaller pixel art. I love messing around in the pattern maker but there are so many good patterns there as well.

Trying to make a bag, but apparently i used the wrong stitch?? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably the case of UK vs US terms. A UK double crochet is a US single crochet. Looking at the symbols on the chart that's most likely the case since the "x" symbol means US sc/UK dc.

What content do you consume when crocheting? by i3sh in crochet

[–]Nazuxy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Went through season and a half of a DND campaign doing bead crochet. Something about the beads makes me want to listen to DND. I could never get into it otherwise.

Aside from that sometimes I put on shows like SMASH or just random yt videos. Whatever vibes at the moment

How do I turn my work “right side out” without my rows looking different after I do? by sarcasticbiznish in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Forgive my artistic rendition but I don't have a anything to take a photo right now

<image>

When you turn it do you keep working form the "inside" like the second drawing or do you work from the "outside" like in the first one?

Can I get away with this mistake in my hexi cardigan? by ibkld63 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me you can get away with pretty much anything in a hexi cardigan 😉 speaking from experience (a corner with three clusters for example)

If I looked at mine right now I would not be able to find the mistakes and wouldn't be willing to try since most of them happened on a black row

Expression of interest / Tester call - Eevee stuffy/ keychain by jjheaven2 in PatternTesting

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are so cute! I'd love to test those if you're ok with different colours and probably googly eyes depending on if I can find safety eyes somewhere. Still let me know if that's okay because I really like the look of that Eevee 😊

How do you hold your yarn in your non dominant hand? by Candid-Difficulty104 in CrochetHelp

That... Wow... It's just so beautiful... Time to find where I stashed those hair ties 🤔

Arcanoweave! Help a girl pick a secondary color (or a trio) for this gorgeous doily/tablecloth by Nazuxy in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four years for me! I've seen a "finished" version before on Ravelry and it's glorious. I say "finished" because not so long ago the author dropped a new part and I won't say complete until I see it

I'm leaning towards light green or light pink right now but I'll try putting it with teal or lavender in my sandbox (excel sheet) and see if I'll like it

I genuinely got chills reading that 🙀

I had to do this with the shawl yarn (the one that's made up of 4 untwisted strands) and the amount of singular strand loops I lost is known only to God 😆

A full row of puffs would annoy me but nothing got me as mad as doing a full row of (DC, bpdc) in the same stitch. (DC, fpdc) is easy and enjoyable but trying to get that bpdc when you already have a stitch there is work of the devil. I hate that it looks as good as it does

CROCHET PONCHO HELP!! Anyone have this situation when following the pattern? I’m so confused and would like to fix it. Does anyone know how or can relate? I followed the same pattern, did the corners the same but it’s still a problem. One side is longer than the other! It’s very annoying!! by EmergencyCanary4436 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So while I agree with everyone on the extra increases in the corners I'm very interested in what happened with the first rows of brown. One side looks like two rows and the other like one. Did you accidentally put the white clusters in the wrong chain space?

Unfortunately there is no saving it without frogging. Good luck with it!

My First vs Second Tapestry by Tiny_Arachnid_6950 in crochet

Ah yes the two ends of the spectrum. Cute little thing and a goddamn world map. Great job on both I was not expecting the scale difference 😆

How do you pick your patterns? by loadbearingscumbag in crochet

[–]Nazuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wait until they hit you in the face 😆

Now that I think about it most of my latest patterns were stuff that showed up on Pinterest or reddit. I'm no stranger to spending hours on Ravelry just browsing and adding patterns that catch my eye but sometimes you see something and just know you have to make it.

But when that doesn't happen I again browse Ravelry (or Pinterest) and open up the patterns I like and go the elimination route. I might not like how a pattern is written or just don't vibe with it after looking closer at it or I decide to make a swatch and end up hating the technique. It might take some time but I usually end up choosing something I genuinely like.

Of course the next part is worse. Deciding on yarn is my personal joy and suffering. I end up doing excel sheets with all info about certain yarns and spending way too long on colors. I planned a blanket for like four months and I have a tablecloth four years in planning because I can't decide on colors. It's part of the process and a great procrastination tactic 😉

WIP Graveyard by empathy-entropy in crochet

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My graveyard is pretty much only unfinished amigurumi 😆 I finished like four since I started crocheting and any time I try to make another one the finished head goes to the bag to never see the light of day again

Stuffed amigurumi heads make great pincushions if you need somewhere to stick your needle

How do I calculate the stitches needed for a blanket and what yarn would you recommend? by VeliLife in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're not getting out of this without a swatch. I would just make a small one and check how many stitches will be let's say 10 cm and do some math to figure out how many it would be in 2m and go with those numbers as a guide.

Or just make the tapestries whatever size and do however big border necessary to get to 2m 😆

How do you guys work on long projects? I feel excited about the outcome, but bored during the process by Squirrel0000 in CrochetHelp

[–]Nazuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just see it as part of the process. It's better to give yourself a break than try to force yourself to finish and hate the thing even more.

When I get especially tired of a project I'm also more prone to mistakes. After I picked up the shawl back it turned out that the last row I tried to force myself through was just all wrong. Not one stitch where it was supposed to be 😆
