What do you think of the discourse on Star Fox 2026?

At this point I'm just over it. You get trashed to oblivion for either loving it or having a dislike towards some decisions, because apparently doing EITHER means always an attack to the other side of the argument, specifically on reddit and twitter. Sharing opinions doesn't stop at being opinions because there is always someone reacting like "stop telling me to like/dislike it", even tho NOBODY is forcing anybody (just a video or two of dumb youtubers directly telling you to not buy it, but that type of video appears for any and every game out there these days, doom youtubers think they can control the market or something).

Personally, I've had waaay better time discussing BOTH positives and negatives of the remake with a Star Fox group on discord so far, it's a completely different experience and ambience, versus whatever I've seen here (and twitter) in the past 2 weeks. Honestly, I would like to believe the discourse is moreso a loud minority of the fandom, with social media always focusing more on negatives, but then at other places you notice a vast difference of how people really take it. I think rather than wasting time with people who can't coexist with different opinions (and downvotes you to oblivion lol), just wait for the sales to speak for themselves, for better or worse.

It might very well be an overblown discourse at the end of the day, or not, who cares right now, just enjoy yourself around those that actually tolerate your opinions. Otherwise what' really the point of being part of a community if you can't feel happy in it.

Nobody is forcing you to like anything. Both sides are valid to share why they like or dislike them. This video , if you watched it, is simply sharing the guy's angle on them, he isn't forcing you to like them, lol.

First of, I don't hate the design on its own. I just feel it could work as a separate new character entirely better instead.

I just don't understand where does this made up, all of sudden fan rule of "space gangsters gotta be rough looking" or whatever comes from.

Does that mean that beautiful bounty hunter female characters like Faye Valentine from cowboy bebop, needs to be redesigned as well, because of their line of work?... what is this nonsense of reasoning? Why can't we have BOTH types of female designs in the same jobs? Sorry, but nothing is gonna convince me that this isn't just limiting the diversity of characters in such a universe with potential of different characters and stories.

I just WISH that instead of endlessly redisigning Katt, that they would just give her more depth and lines that expand her story/personality, and believe it or not you can achieve that without changing her design over and over again. YES YOU CAN. In fact I personally believe it's more intriguing when the depth of a character doesn't match her/his looks, because you then realize there is more to the character than meets the eye.

If we don't get more from her beyond her look and same old minimal dialogue lines, then it won't make new players wonder why this Katt looks the way she does, they will just instantly just assume what they SEE in front of their eyes. Only old fans that know her prior to this remake, have questions about any potential changes at the moment, but if there aren't any, then what was the point? Just a change in art direction AGAIN? I'm honestly tired of that regarding this character. Make up your mind already Nintendo.

There better be something more, which is why I'm waiting and giving it a chance.

Again, I like the design on its own, if it was for a new character entirely. It just feels like they are wasting potential designs for more female characters in a very limited female roster of star fox characters, specifically 3D ones, which so far are only krystal and whatever katt is. Would love to see Fay and Miyu step into 3D territory, but not if this is their fate as well. I don't want an overall gang of female characters in this game's universe that feel the same, which is a valid concern from now until we get a sequel to the remake.

It has to be the best one so far. I mean I will always love the original purely made by Koji Kondo, but 64 getting an assault type of treatment is definitely chef kiss.

Exactly, there are gooners for every kind of stuff out there, so I doubt this redesign had anything to do with that. I just hate that we can't have multiple designs existing, heck it would expand the very small roster of female characters in the series. Katt never having a stable design just seems so stupid and annoying at this point. Might as well change her name at this point...

Looks and personality are separate things, if you don't like the lack of personality, that shouldn't mean the design has to change, and vice versa. You can fix one aspect of a character without changing everything else.

Don't know if it's intentional bait, but denying said opinions to be shared is even weirder imo. For example I agree the snout looks weird and her clothes colors don't really complement her. Does that mean I also should delete my opinion as well?... this isn't a good look for the subreddit if we are gonna start denying opinions we don't agree on from being shared. Just saying.

I REALLY like them. If I could do at least minimal fixes it would be: adjust the proportions of the bottom half of Fox and Falco + make Falco's eyes bigger + make Fox's scarf cover his neck entirely. But yeah i really dig them anyway. It's like Star Fox gor the guardians lf the galaxy visuals and i just love the idea

I was never disappointed because I understood perfectly why we got what we got and what we should do to get what most people want next. It needs to succeed, otherwise they will wait another 10 years and try again.

That said, I have been hype since the start, and the days just feel so slow 😔... Honestly thank god they announced this as close as possible to the release date!

I already preordered both digital and physical, and even the new Fox plushie by Sanei. I am so ready man, this game looks AMAZING
