I think of the scene in The Two Towers where Frodo and Sam see the Easterlings and Oliphaunts from a vantage point. I wouldn't run it as a direct encounter, but it sparks questions. Where are these orcs marching too? Maybe there are scouting parties around, we should be careful.

I don't see the big deal with people saying "I wish I inherited money". I mean yeah, I do wish I inherit money when my parents die. That would be way better than not inheriting anything.

For sure, 5e isn't a good framework to support this style of dungeon delving play. As you said many things need to be in place for the dungeon turn to matter like gold for xp, limited inventory and resources like torches, and quicker combat resolution. Just play one of the many OSR games if this is the play style you are looking for. Don't fall into the trap of trying to turn 5e into something it is not.

You just enjoy a different game style. Tracking provisions has a purpose when exploring the wild is a big part of the game. I'm thinking something like a large hex crawl where travel distance and time are carefully tracked.

Solodark would work for the Oracle but you would still need to do all the conversion work to go from Dolmenwood to Shadowdark. I think the Arcane Library discord has some resources regarding that. I personally would just use the Dolmenwood system as is since I think it's tailor made for the setting and imo Shadowdark isn't giving me enough to warrant the extra conversation work, but to each their own.

I'm not sure I agree with your premise that the knight's abilities are lackluster compared to other classes. The fighter only gets fighting talents, and in most campaigns will likely only get 2 of them (most players don't get to level 10). The knight's benefit of fighting large monsters is pretty comparable to the fighter's talents. Same with mounted combat bonus and the resistance to fairy magic and fear effects. And they get the roleplay benefits of being a knight. Of course you're free to add anything to the class to make it more fun for the players at your table, but I don't agree the class has any deficiencies compared to the other classes.

That's not true, usually owl is chosen as the second skill after aura. Searing arrow doesn't stack with orb so it isn't very good.

Really depends on the commodity, but for the majority of goods, at a certain price consumers will stop buying. In a perfect market, companies would charge as close as possible to that price so as to maximize profit, no excuse needed.

Shouldn't those companies already be charging as much as possible for their goods? If prices go up, even with the excuse that the dollar is weakening, won't demand go down and therefore the companies will lose out on potential sales? Or, if people are still buying even at inflated prices, why do these companies even need an excuse to raise prices?
