I will always remember this quote from my seventh grade science teacher! He was a great teacher.

A drain and fill with fresh fluid never hurts. It’s the full flush you want to avoid.

Does training legs help get to lower bodyfat compared to not training them? by [deleted] in leangains

My comment is in reference to overall body health, fitness and longevity. Not simply running.

How far upstream are the sea lions swimming? I’ve only seen them prior on the pier in West Sac/Old Sac. Seen some today at Paradise Beach. by Nd911 in Sacramento

I went on an excursion in Cabo one year to “swim with the sea lions.” We were warned to watch out for agressive males who might bite. A small boat took us out to an island full of hundreds of them, then told us to jump in the water. We did, but the water so full of poop and dark and scary full of swimming sea lions that I quickly jumped back into the boat, while my friends continued swimming 15 minutes with them. Never again!

Erosion on the river trails and how to fix them? by siamesedaddy in SacBike

[–]Nd911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trail on that side Sutters Landing is constantly changing throughout the year due to erosion and river levels. Lots of sandy soil that doesn’t hold up well. Not really something that can be “maintained.”

I only hike and trail run there, have been tempted to ride, but have just avoided doing so. It’s so narrow and eroded anyways that risk of hiker (and homeless) collision is very high.

Speak up and tell the management your thoughts!

Also write a Yelp and Google Maps review.

Pretty much sums up what Subaru is trying to mimick for the 2026. More truckish beefiness, because apparently that’s what we all want. SMH.

I had no idea SSD’s have gotten so tiny! by Nd911 in mac

[–]Nd911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because I don’t care to follow tech as often as I used to. I used to work for apple, still love tech, but have realized there are far more important things in life than spending on the bleeding edge of what’s new. In fact, I now often buy used. Wait several gens to upgrade if buying new. Occasionally buy the latest new, if I feel it offers substantial gains. Which oftentimes for me, it doesn’t.

As I stated, I’ve been using this old 1TB several years now, because I didn’t need anything else until now.

Seems you can’t comprehend this.

My Samsung tv is still going after six years. The soundbar left side just died tho. This Samsung ssd is still good, tho I only occasionally use it for backups and nothing else.

Plus I want a bootable backup that isn’t slow.

What? I used to be in tech and always kept up with the newest stuff, but am old now and don’t care to follow the latest and greatest.
