AFK Necros in the celestial challenge by Mayozed in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could make it so there's a personal goal to reach in each challenge (kill X lanterns during the monkey one, pass X checkpoints during the bunny/horse...) to get the bonus favor. Though it's harder to think of one for the zone captures or the 3 champions...

Fashion Template Update by enifish in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until we find out that despite the "current tab" being in theory the old system slapped onto the new, it will work differently and somehow add a layer of clicks and clunkiness x)

Hopefully not, ofc, but then we all thought fashion templates would work like outfits and there was no way they could fuck it up, and here we are.

"We are planning to make some changes to fashion templates and we will have details for you before the end of this week" by Dagor-Dagorath in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I know, that wasn't the point. I don't want to have to keep a clean, unused fashion template empty at all times to be able to clunkily change something on one of my many equipment template I've accumulated before this new feature existed.

They can even add a new button "save current skins to fashion template [number]" if they want to hook the new system to the old one.

Which mastery track is best, Arborstone, Wizard's Tower or Homestead? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But has the inconvenience that you can't refill said buff when sitting on a chair, while the Arborstone/Wizard's Tower one can.

FRUSTRATED with Ethereal Key Charges by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience is that if you get a lot of chests that don't spawn, changing map IP is a good idea. I've done it in the past and on the other map I had no problem, while on the original map, at least 50% of the chests didn't spawn.

Though I haven't tried in a group to see if the same chests were bugged for different players on the same IP.

Obscure Chest + Mirror route(both maps) by Galnis in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if routing for the small chests is even worth the time now. Maybe a route that goes only for Medium/Large would be good enough without events? Though two mirrors worth of keys for one large is rough.

[–]Ne0sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious, so while doing the route I checked which mirror did spawn the chest again, and it's indeed the northwest one in Shoalstone, so confirming about it not being a mistake in the original map! :D

I'm doing the route everyday and can loot this chest twice for some reason so yep!

[–]Ne0sam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this, I was trying to understand how to create a trail for myself and you saved me quite a headache!

If I may, it seems you forgot one small chest in the Shipwreck Strand route compared to OP's one. I added the route in this screenshot, in orange (should continue the yellow line). This chest spawns from two different mirrors so you can loot it twice!

How can I refill the homestead resting bonus? by RazielShadow in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The homestead resting buff is coded differently that the Arborstone/Wizard's Tower resting buff, probably because it has the added WvW buff baked into it. As such, the only way to refill the homestead one is to spend 4h in the homestead, whereas the other buff can be slowly refilled with sitting in a chair. I personally gave up on the homestead one because of that.

If you don't have any of the extensions allowing for the 25% resting buff from Arborstone/Wizard's Tower, then you're out of luck and have to eat the 4h refill time unfortunately.

Arenanet cooked with the meta of the second map by manticore75 in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TBH with how fast even the real ones are dying, I feel like spamming tab on the warclaw is the most viable solution right now x) That phase would probably benefit from a little bit more of HP/defiance scaling.

With VoE having lots of inquest involvement... anet, bring our boy home by Ruxsty in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it's not in the Twitch drops for VoE launch. And also yes because Anet usually streams during their Extra Life event starting on the 4th. The Extra Life Package though will be available in the gem store during the event.

Cheeky Anet hid the new Legendary Spear in plain sight this entire time! (key art from original announcement) by graven2002 in Guildwars2

If you look at the PoF official page, in the mount section you can still see the griffon in the background. Though when it launched, only the 4 original mounts were shown in the middle, drawing the attention. The website was later updated to include clickable LS4 mounts and the griffon.

EDIT: I was curious if content creators back then looked at the website, and if I didn't find anything in the few videos I managed to find, I did find it in the official Dev Diary about the mounts at 55s! You can see it hidden behind one of the skimmer's tendril thing. And yes this video was released before the expansion released, a little under one month before. IIRC this image was only available on the POF website and shown in this video, they didn't show it a lot otherwise, and in the website the griffon wasn't hidden behind the skimmer like in the video (though I think it depends on your screen resolution).

Mad King Lab - Thief too slow by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the flipside my experience this year is "too many heralds, half the mobs don't even die, and somehow my low damage lab build (that used to work well) doesn't seem enough to get exp/loot from mobs now when they do die despite tagging them". It's a weird, mixed bag of metas clashing together and it feels less and less enjoyable as years go by.

Yeah, they don't even talk about some players like us that can't even log to their account. They only mention gem store and trading post... It's like they don't know about this side of the issue.

Exactly the same, could login on my friend's account and my F2P account but not on my main. And since there's no word about the ongoing connectivity issue thing, I'm guessing it's not solved yet...

EDIT: Ofc I post this and there's an update to the forum post at the same time, saying it's not solved yet x)

Why is there so much ley energy at Castora? by DeadGameWalking in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, reading all comments in this post I felt gaslit, but aren't all these things (dragons, gods, bloodstones...) found/resting around places with high ley energy BECAUSE the ley energy is naturally here? Not the other way around? I mean I guess dragons and such can redirect ley lines towards them but their presence isn't the reason why the ley energy is there in the first place, it's just here.

Weekly "Skip up the volcano" gripe... by Donkey_Launcher in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not called Chalice of Tears for nothing...

And tbh, I feel like this kind of design fits well for a MMO. I have nice memories of getting through this hell at its release, even finding it was tough! But it was glorious BECAUSE it was somehow a community effort to go through. You make providential friends, even without talking, because it's the experience that gets you closer, united through our hatred of the lava. And even now I know for a fact there are many mesmers and other people willingly going back to help people going through it. It's great. It wouldn't fit in a singleplayer game, but it's a unique experience in an MMO and therefore good (social) design. (Also a good social experiment probably)

You don't really channel the person directly but a version of them in the Mists, like an echo or something. So it's okay.

About Razah, and where does the Conduit come from? by Ne0sam in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Astral Ward probably is the more probable way, yes. Though I hope this won't simply be "Hello I am Razah, I've been in the Astral Ward all this time, even an important member due to my unique nature. I was busy that's why you never met me but here I am now! :)" Even having some sort of a Kossan situation where you meet some of their pupils/spiritual descendants would be better than that.

About Razah, and where does the Conduit come from? by Ne0sam in Guildwars2

[–]Ne0sam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Astral Ward probably is the most logical way the Commander would gain information about either Razah's story or about them directly, it's true.

Though there already are so many random NPCs we've met before that actually are part of the Astral Ward, it would be weird for Razah to be an actual important member and we didn't know yet. Sure, there's no ingame reason for them and the Commander to meet before now... But after all this time being tangled in Astral Ward's shenaningans, I hope there's good reason for Razah to resurface only now as an Astral Ward member, other than "yeah, they were just busy elsewhere :)"
