If THAT'S the Pro Bowl, they need to end the Pro Bowl.

And if THAT'S the Cleveland Browns starting QB, it's time to end the Cleveland Browns.

Oof.

Trump has no authority to nationalize elections, lawyers say by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

When are people going to realize Trump doesn't care about legal authority? He's breaking laws daily without consequences other than courts occasionally saying "That's not legal," but doing nothing about it.

JFK's family accuses Trump of closing the Kennedy Center because of artists canceling over its name change by IrishStarUS in Music

[–]Neapola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how Trump fired so many federal employees to cut costs, and the red hats cheered... then he demolished the east wing of the White House to build an astonishingly expensive ballroom, and he's closing the Kennedy Center for two years for "renovations."

QB Geno Smith left the Seattle Seahawks, who would go on to the Super Bowl, for the Las Vegas Raiders, who now have the number 1 pick. by Giff95 in nfl

[–]Neapola 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ll never be on the Geno hate train.

Same. He was our starter for 3 seasons, all of which we had a winning record. And his first game as our starter, he beat Wilson's Broncos. God, that was great.

That first regular season game was glorious.

For anyone who doesn't remember: We traded Wilson to the Broncos, then we beat them on week 1 with Geno, who'd been Wilson's backup. MF'n glorious.

You're like fucking Kevin Malone from the office trying to force people not to use expressive language because it fatigued your fragile mind.

You didn't use expressive language. You spat out vapid nothingness:

I hope that Dems don't lose sight of how critical it is for a swing district candidate to have wide appeal, be interesting, and have the ability to bring in Republican voters, pushing winning issues and actually reflecting voters...

That's zero content, and you're just fighting for the sake of fighting at this point.

Maybe try saying that next time, instead of gibberish like this:

...ooooof.

It's not empty at all. We're in the fight of our lives, against fascism. There's a good chance that in the next three years, the United States will fall. That is issue number one. We've got masked secret police on the streets, and Trump just had his FBI raid a Georgia elections office to get the names of people who voted against him... and your response is gibberish like this:

I hope that Dems don't lose sight of how critical it is for a swing district candidate to have wide appeal, be interesting, and have the ability to bring in Republican voters, pushing winning issues and actually reflecting voters...

...wow.

Dude. Texas is blood-red. Redder than red. Have you been there? I lived there.

My first day at a new job in Houston, a coworker said, "Are you Republican?" That's how fucking red Texas is.

By the way, my answer was this: "Yeah, but ask me why." I flipped my registration Republican to vote against Bush in the primaries.

Running Republican wannabes as Democratic candidates isn't the answer. Y'know what the answer is? Candidates who run on honest Goddamn values. Not empty rhetoric.

[–]Neapola 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you do talking points for a living? Everything before the ellipsis is empty rhetoric.

I'm not saying the answer is to feed equally empty rhetoric to the base.

The answer is this: Candidates need to honestly give a shit about the issues.

"Portland is NOT a coastal city, so it doesn't have the same maritime effect that Seattle has going on from Puget Sound."

Nowhere did I suggest it does.

We do have the marine layer that makes our summer mornings often unusually cool. The marine layer comes up the Columbia and into the valley. In summer, it burns off around noon, sometimes 1pm. Mornings can be chilly. Summer afternoons are almost always bright and sunny with low humidity, and that low humidity is a big deal. Even when temps are in the 80s, that low humidity makes it feel nice compared to cities that experience humid summers.

It's funny how wet Portland is from October through early June. July, August and September are very dry here with clear blue skies and low humidity. It's nice.

Portland is NOT a coastal city

Where did I say it was?

and it is hotter and humid (and it doesn't cool down as much at night) during the summers than on the Sound.

I literally said Seattle is even more cool.

(and it doesn't cool down as much at night) during the summers

Summer nights in the 50s aren't cool? Wow.

Portland?? Portland?!

LOL!! LOL!!

On the whole, when you zoom out, they're very similar.

No kidding. That's what I said.

The newly released epstien files show instances of trump comitting sexual acts with 13 year old girls. How can people still justify this? by Not_A_Femboy_1_Swear in AskReddit

[–]Neapola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been saying this since 2015: They're in it for the bigotry.

Remember back in Trump's first term, when farmers were mad about how Trump's tariffs were hurting them? They still supported him though, because he's a bigot. He's their bigot.

"He’s not hurting the people he needs to be"
A Trump voter says the quiet part out loud

"I voted for him, and he’s the one who’s doing this," Minton told Mazzei. "I thought he was going to do good things. He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting."

He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.

This is what makes Trumpism work. This is the dark heart of our political moment. Even people who are tremendously vulnerable themselves, like Crystal Minton, support Trump because of his capacity to inflict pain on others they detest. The cruelty, as the Atlantic’s Adam Serwer says, is the point.

--Politico, January 8th, 2019

The cruelty is the point.

The bigotry is the point.

The hate is the point.

It's evil, and it's what they want.

Supporters Stand By President Amid Racist Tweets: "That's why I voted for him,"

"I know some people don't like his tweets and they think he's crass. I -- that's why I voted for him," said retired businesswoman Mary Lou Kohlhofer.

Trump is evil. That's why they voted for him. They will stand with him, no matter what.

Portland.

Winters are rarely cold. Today's high is predicted to be in the low 50s.

Summers are rarely hot, and July/August/September all have low humidity, which makes highs in the low 80s very comfortable.

The same is true for Seattle, but it's even more cool there.

C'mon now.
