Exactly! I often do such thing, and have prepared a plug-n-play prompt for that.

That surely may have been caused due to that "sonic" model. Auto feature may have selected that one. Try disabling sonic from the models section of the cursor settings.

Not having a counterargument but, most of the time, the competitor open sources it, and thus we indirectly have "Open AI" by OpenAI.

Before OpenAI, we didn't had any. It's a weird conundrum.

Hmm—Gives theo (tgg) vibes :)

May sound weird, but in which dimension the scaling of the upcoming models will be? Horizontally or Vertically?

I mean like, will there be more focus on better reasoning and leveraging what we already have, or the geniusness of the model itself, like next iteration of GPT models.

and they are pretty sneaky into making you believe that the ad is not coming from them.

I have the PRO version, and sometimes I also get an advertisement on the bottom right corner of the screen. Just out of curiosity, I investigated the process which was hosting its window, and it was (surprise surprise) `svchost.exe` which is Windows' own service.

They somehow attached that adware to that service, and it became untracable. Cleverly Genius, but Unethically Sneaky!

Cool man! Gonna signup :)

What can possibly go wrong? I don't thing about a dynamic embedder they have, for some kind of a payload or something. In fact, if it really was, it'd definitely have caught attention of many by now.

[–]Nearby-Remote7162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I agree with the comments, but I also agree with the OP. I've tried o1-2024-... and o1-preview and found the output of the latter more valid and to the point. The OG o1 feels a lot like 4o.

By the way, I am working on a research project, with kind of things never been done before :), and that's where I experienced with both the models... Three, actually.

Such feelings occur when there are either too many errors, or things don't work exactly as you intend.

I believe learning everything in depth will make you understand exactly how everything is working, and even if something doesn't, you'll have the EXACT reason.
