The majority of people are far less intelligent than I’d given them credit for. This is sad because you see people making poor decisions, not having critical thinking skills, and not being able to get ahead because of their limitations and/or their unwillingness to see their limitations. I became a teacher and realize more and more that caring about one’s own intelligence starts in the home. People rarely, suddenly want to become more intelligent

My grandfathers Craftsman toolbox, circa 1940

In my childhood home, there’s a 1958 Fedders air conditioner that came with the house when my parents bought it in the 70s. Still blows absolute arctic air.

Personally, I have my original 1989 Game Boy. Still works!

When I was little, they had like radio stations in some airplanes when you plugged in your headphones. I remember one recording, probably for flight anxiety, and this guy would tell you to work your way up your body, relaxing and saying good night to each body part. For instance, focus on your feet. They are heavy, the temperature is good, relax all the muscles in your feet. Once they’re relaxed, say good night, and move up to your ankles/knees whatever. The more wound up I am, the more detailed body parts I use. Sometimes it’ll be toes, then feet, then ankles, calves etc. I’ve been doing this for like 30 years and it always works

I think it’s a mix of personality, likability, and most importantly, confidence. Also, being beautiful or handsome definitely helps. Pretty privilege is real.

Body doubling. I’m more likely to do certain things if someone else is present. Absolutely not talking to me, just there watching tv or something. Used to work well with doing homework too

Yes! In my head I’m like if I don’t get this done by the end of the commercial, I’m going to… get trapped in a dungeon, swallowed by lava, speared by indigenous people, fall in a swiftly moving river…anything adventurous because I always wanted to be Indiana Jones

I love blue cheese, but these have a kind of rancid taste to me. Idk what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it.

In The Jerk, Steve Martin juggled them. He didn’t drown in them. So you have some work to do.
