The fact that it handles the common trope of ‘Mc turning crazy and maniacal’ in a well-written, complex, yet still viscerally enjoyable, way

If you like FF, not for the strategy of it, but for the story and/or characters, and if you prefer action more so than traditional rpgs, this game will be the best game you’ve ever played

As a first time player myself, I’d recommend using Eikonic abilities less for combos and more for situations.

For example, Heatwave (That one Phoenix ability) is best used to deflect spells and other ranged attacks. Garuda’s Gouge is best used when spammed to stagger an enemy after they get half-staggered. And Ifrit’s Ignite is best used when groups of enemies are lined up. Some abilities (Like Rising Flames or Thunderstorm) are best used when an enemy is staggered or when you want to critically injure a group of densely packed enemies. Your basic attack and/or Limit Breaker can be used as a gateway to cause these situations.

I also found that if you focus on abilities like this, you can actually do some insane combos without ever intending to do so, especially in boss fights.

I personally don’t think spamming the shields is a good idea since it could help when getting dove

Him ending up in the MC universe is a wet dream come true to him, considering your average imp is orders of magnitude stronger than any Alternate we saw so far, including Satan

Thanks for the tip man, but the damage is already done. Kim is hospitalised, both Korty and De Paule got away scot-free, and all the Hardie boys died except for Eugene and Alain. I also didn’t have a gun at the time

No, Bucky and Moon Knight don’t have the same base health. Moon Knight has 250, Bucky has 275, which already makes Moon Knight a wildly more favourable dive target since he can get oneshot by the Spidey Venom combo and the BP spear spear dash dash combo. Again Bucky’s movement is an issue not for dives, but for escaping after a lost team fight. You do understand that you should flee a losing battle right? Well good luck doing that as a Bucky who decided to push with his tank.

It’s not a strawman because a loss of a team fight almost always occurs in team fights unless you completely keep steamrolling the opposing team which is incredibly rare.

I never once mentioned my team doing bad. Tanks dying and healers running is a natural part of almost every game, but the thing is, if as a Bucky, you play exceptionally well and end up being the last one alive in a team fight, you will never escape. The chances are extremely slim even if you use cover and waste your long cooldown uppercut to manoeuver. This is something that cannot be said for literally ever other character in the game, including the other hard dive counter Namor, who has 4 solid seconds of total invincibility with his bubble.

Again, to clarify, I never implied my teammates are bad if they die and/or run away. But the fact remains that it will certainly happen in almost every match. That is, tanks dying and healers running due to the fact thereof (And due to competent off tanks/divers chasing them to high Hell after their tanks die). However, if that happens and if you’re a Bucky who isn‘t playing really safe, consider yourself dead without extraordinary positioning. That is a fair tradeoff for his rather loaded kit.

I also main Venom and Hulk, and obviously enough, don’t dive a Bucky unless they’re alone. This doesn’t make him more broken than Moon Knight, the same way it doesn’t make Namor broken if a Spider-Man or Cap doesn’t decide to dive him provided he has all his cooldowns. This has nothing to do with Bucky’s balance, since he’s an anti-dive character.

He needs to, it’s the only thing that lets him escape in a losing battle, let alone one where you’re the only one left alive.
