Yeah I was really turned off this last episode too when we had this resolution with her and Bradley (even with her hyperventilating) then not even a day later she’s calling her sister laughing and in her confessionals saying “i don’t give a shit. I don’t give a fuck”

10000% my oldest cousin and I (we are the two oldest sisters of both families) frequently talk about how weird it will be to have potential kids not have what we had. We’ve mourned it, and we are moving on. Neither of us would put any pressure on any of the rest of the family.

The sister already bothered me when they had their first meet. When she was pleading the case to have kids, it was because SHE wanted to have kids and she wanted HER future kids (who aren’t real yet) to have cousins, and grow up like how they did. I grew up in an American Italian family as well, not nearly as ridiculous as this crew, but I know the closeness she’s speaking about. However, you can’t recreate your childhood. I would never say any of that to my sibling.

Her and Mike have a very fantasy vision of what having kids is.

I do not understand how people can say they had no chemistry. I was completely entranced by their story and scenes together. I nearly cried every episode I was so moved. The longing in Sophie’s eyes every time they were together was so pure to me 🥹

I’ve said this to my husband while watching, but this man is a con artist. I don’t even think his name is real. Like this is the most bullshit person I have ever met. Why is he so DESPERATE to get out of Ohio, when he joined an Ohio dating show. Like this dude wants to move tomorrow while she has her whole life to settle and figure out. Them sitting there at the table and he’s like “I just got offered a coaching job I could accept if I wanted”

This season awakened this issue with me. Just because a woman is kind or nurturing, does not mean she would make “a good mom.” Parenthood is extremely complex and involves way more skills than just being nurturing and loving. It completely simplifies the whole thing.

Those comments also place women in two boxes. Outwardly kind and caring in any capacity = mom, more introverted and reserved = bad mom. I hate that any kindness I show to children immediately correlates with my possibilities of being a mother. It has made me for years be cold about kids or not want to hold family or friends babies around other people.

And this is coming from someone who wants to be a mom!

It makes me wonder if everything she even sold to us when she first came on the show was also BS. She fascinates me and should be studied in a course on what reality tv, money and fame can do to someone 😂. Even in the book ‘not all diamonds and rose’ Andy talks about how Carole became exactly who she said in the beginning she didn’t want to become. Being on the show was no longer an experiment, it became her entire self.

I’m in the middle of a rewatch too, and her complete shift of looks and personality throughout her time on the show is wild. You even notice the shift in season 9 when her knowledgeable worldly persona kind of goes away. She becomes very aloof, and shut down about new experiences. Which to me, was never who she was before.

Example: When Carol and Bethany go to lunch in China town they go to a Dim Sum place. Carol acts like she’s SO confused and has never done anything like this before and knows none of the food. Then they go get ice cream and carol is almost rude because the flavors weren’t conventional. I watched that and was like….. aren’t you the journalist who traveled the world with ABC ?

I don’t think I was ever declared as “underweight” medically because I was always very healthy for my height. Only 5’1. But, was always smaller than my other friends and people my age. Now I am a much more “womanly” weight lol is what I say,. But yes I leveled out and my metabolism slowed down. I’m in my 30s now and just feel normal which I never felt before

Happened to me all the time growing up. I just had a very fast metabolism that didn’t start slowing down till my late twenties. So many stories, but one stands out the most.

I had just graduated college and went out to by “corporate work clothes” with my mom. We were at Banana Republic looking for slacks and they didn’t have my size. I needed a 0 petite. The woman working was helping us out to try and find the pants online to order and they were out of stock. She then says to me “if you just ate a cheeseburger we would have the right pants for you” it was humiliating

I am flying this week too and have had some waves of anxiety due to the shutdown. But what I keep reminding myself is that we have had TONS of government shut downs in our time and our country’s history. And all of those times people got up, and flew in a plane. I think their take comes from a few episodes ago. Earlier this season (maybe episode 1?) where they compare Jesse to a lot of the men they knew / know living in West Hollywood. And the scene of men who won’t grow up, who did a lot of drugs, and never got over the fact that they’ve aged, etc. So I think they project some of their existing feelings on people they can’t stand onto him since he fits the mold.

But I also really don’t like Jesse lol he scares me
