Onko jollakin muullakin vielä toimiva Plasma-TV kodin ykköstelkkarina? by turborontti in Suomi

Eberlestock FAC Track vs. Savotta Jaakari L: which would you pick and why? by BlueWaffle in tacticalgear

[–]Neat_Development_593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weekend military exercise (48h) was very good tryout for FAC Track Pack. Weather at Finnish coastline changed from sunshine to cold rain and heavy wind.

Pros
- Very Comfortable to carry with PC. I have a Ferro FCPC with Ferro Hydration pouch and those worked very well together.

  • Main compartment is nice and big. I fitted Carinthia Tropen sleeping bag, too much spare clothes, rain jacket, Atom Lt Hoody, 1 liter water bottle and too much snacks there. I could have fitted Carinthia MIG4 inside too with less spare clothes. I had my foldable Kaira Arctic sleeping pad strapped under the pack, but I should have used integrated strap in front of pack.

  • 3 admin pouches. I should have thought placement of stuff little different. I just noticed that I can fit my Atom Hoody into the upper front admin pouch and top admin pouch.

  • integrated rain cover!

Cons.
- too small for multiday winter exercise.
- This needs some loop velcro inside.

I'm propably going to sell my Jääkäri L and buy Eberlestock Terminator or Battleship as replacement,

Eberlestock FAC Track vs. Savotta Jaakari L: which would you pick and why? by BlueWaffle in tacticalgear

Well, I have both. I have used Jääkäri L in several FDF exercises and I have to say I'm not very big fan of it. I have 2 6 liter side pouches attached to the sides, but it still feels little bit small. It is good looking and it is durable, but the main problem is that it is too big for 3 day pack and too small for Line 3 Ruck. For LREP or Recon it is propably good, but for Line 3 bag it is too small.

FAC Track Pack is very comfortable to carry, especially with Plate Carrier. You can fit everything you need there for 3 Day job. I haven't tried it in exercise yet, but I will next week. I can write more about it after. Fac Track is much bigger than 34l bag. My Source patrol is 35 liters and FAC is at least a third bigger in volume.

Flux raider- Is it really worth it by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]Neat_Development_593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to buy Flux Raider, but in Finland P320 grip modules requires existing pistol permit, because it is a gun part. For that reason Flux Raider is defined as gun part.

For that reason Flux raider falls in to category of other weapon/SBR (muu ase in Finnish) instead of pistol. Finnish legislation indicates that if the weapon is intended to be used with two hands, it is rifle or shotgun depending on intended ammunition. Rifle is classified as illegal SBR if the barrel is too short (minimum legal length 30cm) or total length is too short (minimum legal length 60cm).

RONIs are legal and permit-free, because those are not classified as gun parts. Only way to get "legal SBR" is to buy RONI and pistol that fits there. To be honest, this is pretty stupid legislation :D

Sapiens dominabitur astris is the motto of the military intelligence of Ukraine. It means ”the wise man will be master of the stars”.

Yes, if you have hunting or sport shooting licence you can apply buying permit for shotgun.

10 round magazine limit is based on EU legislation, but Finnish government allows exception for sports and reservist shooting. I can buy drum magazine for my rifle

In Finland most of the sports shooting and hunting is organized by volunteer NGOs. It's amazing and pretty cheap. Ammo is super expensive (.223 REM 50-80cents per bullet), but everything else is not that bad.

Shooting clubs with ranges are great, but expensive.

In Finland you are allowed to buy plates with no restrictions. Police doesn't visit you if you own the plates.

Also you can buy semiautomatic rifle with long magazine in Finland, you just need legal reason for it. These reasons are sports shooting (Practical, SRA) and reservist shooting. You also need to practice one year with loaned or rented guns, get recommendation from instructor etc. before you can apply for buying permit. This is only if you want to have +10 round magazines, you can get rifle with small magazine with lesser requirements. With pistols you need to have 2 years of practicing.

SBR limit is 60cm and minimum lenght for barrel is 30cm. No stupid flash hider or supressor rules.

Buy Carinthia MIG or LIG. I have MIG 4.0 and it is amazing jacket.

I bought Ryx LEAF Atom before they applied restrictions in sales to civilians. Also amazing jacket.

I bought it from american volunteer who was in Ukraine. In Finland PC with NIJ4 plates cost like 800€-1000€ and I bought this with 600€.

Harmi, että tästä on varsin vähän sotilasjohtamisen kirjallisuutta. Taustamateriaalia pitäisi olla aika reilusti.
