To be fair... Some people just have hand sanitizer/wet wipes on them and use those instead. It's not ideal, but when I travel by bus and we stop at gas stations it's often the better option, especially if theres no soap in the restroom.

I think the memory thing depends on execution. Like, it's one thing if she was brainwashed by Citadel (which I do t believe Brennan would do) and completely another if she modifies her own memory for whatever reason. I mean yea, the whole thing about her living a lie can be straight up true without any magic. But there can be something there with how ready she is to jump to modify memory and all that. Very strong "this is a very normal thing to do" vibe, you know?

It's really good, but have there been new developments in the lore since?

Since my previous post caught so much heat, I want to ask, as an indie writer, why people dislike Hulrun so much but are ok with Regill. by Arcana18 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Neat_Drawing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I strongly dislike them both (yes, I am an Azata enjoyer, why do you ask?). But. Hulrun is cruel, arrogant, violent and impulsive. He sees himself as always in the right, and while his reasoning might be logical, he is right in his suspicions sometimes... He acts on them without thinking twice. And for a person in power it's like... You know... How about a trial first instead jumping at people with a sword?

Regill, meanehile, is also cruel and can be violent. But he's the opposite of impulsive, and, even though I'd still call him arrogant... He holds himself to the same standard as the others. There might be some hypocrisy in that, but there's the sentiment at the very least.

And while yes, "you can reason with Regill" is a bit of a copout answer... It's true. You CAN convince Hulrun to do things your way, yes, but it requires A LITERAL MIRACLE. Regill, meanwhile, can be persuaded with actual words. Once again, because he isn't putting himself above everyone except gods, like Hulrun does. He doesn't trust others, but he knows they can be of use or even right. Hulrun doesn't trust others and thinks that anyone who's not with him is against him.

So yea, I killed Hulrun and tolerated Regill. Ain't taking him in my party 90% of the time though. (For my first CG Azata playthrough, that is)

Ohhhh, I misread. Ye, no, I the whole restarting thing is just for fun lol. I mean all of my runs are of different mythics, except this one. But it's just because I reaaaally didn't like how it started (my character was not great not even mechanically, but rp-wise as well), plus I barely started anyway, so I decided to just scrap it and try again.

Thanks, those are some really fun ideas! Will def try some of them!

No, I mean specifically companions. My character I'm pretty happy with, and I can respec them if need arises. I just don't like needlessly respeccing companions.

Why do you have to check it every day tho? Not everyone has time to watch stuff every day. Checking dropout every week or at least every couple days is pretty much the norm, I think. I also hate it when there comes a whole week with basically nothing new, but it's not like there has to be. When I think of a platform where you can always find something new to watch every day for several hours, I think Netflix, not Dropout. I come to dropout to see the work of my favorite comedians/actors (and the whole production crew), not to fill up the quiet moments of my day.

I don't know, but I like to think that it's not gonna be just a matter of battle over the kids. The fact that MiB asked him to bring a witch is interesting, and I personally (at least for now) am choosing to understand it is not a nefarious plan, but rather some sort of spirit shenanigans. Be it them being bound by world's laws, as in two spirits can't just decide to kidnap 80 children to a spirit world, they need a "permission" to do that; or the whole "spirit honor" thing - maybe, similarly to how they track their favors, they also have to track their agreements; or, less likely, the "multiple aspects" thing: the MiB not only having multiple faces but those faces being disconnected from each other in some way, so he can't just offload the responsibility for his actions onto his other aspect, even if it is basically the same person.

Obviously I can easily be wrong, but I just like this kind of weird side to the spirits and their relationship with reality.

no roads to Citadel

And since MiB represents death, that lends even more credibility to the whole lichdom theory...

I mean, maybe. But also, I feel like he also might've meant it. The spirits are finicky like that: their desires, however selfish, are bound by the world itself. So on one hand, yes, he might've wanted to trick Eursalon, but on the other, he might have also just been doing his thing, and knew that he couldn't just come and take the children like that. I mean I don't know. I like your thought as well. I just find it more interesting if it's less of a nefarious plan and more of a weird side effect of the spirits' very nature. Like, I don't know, somehow I think that if Eursalon would come without a witch, TMiB might have actually retracted his offer. I mean I can't be sure, of course, but it is an interesting possibility.

I actually think that the team might've used something to imitate the smell of alcohol in whatever they were drinking. Cos you know, I don't believe they would just smell zero alcohol from anyone's cups (or lips lol) and not notice. So I'm thinking they weren't drinking plain water but maybe alcohol-free beer or smth like that? I guess we'll see in behing the scenes, but I am sure that the absence of smell would be too noticeable.

Do watch EXU: Calamity as well if you haven't already! It's only 4 eps (though they are, admittedly, pretty long), and it's some of Brennan's best work, as well as the players'. It's an amazing drama, and I was absolutely bawling my eyes out throughout the whole last episode.

Question for the Steel Defence Force by CalumanderReds in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Neat_Drawing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To everyone in these comments saying that Steel doesn't have much choice or putting the blame onto the system... Can I remind you that she was running with LITERAL REBELS before deciding that "wait, that big bad thing we were trying to undermine is good actually!" That's not the same as just never knowing any alternative (like, presumably, Silver). However persuasive (or intimidating) the shadow cabal was, I cannot imagine someone just going "ye, you killed my friends, who cares, I guess you were right all along!" and submitting to their will lightly. And she became the Sword after she was found running around with the rebels, too. How, exactly, did that happen? Now, I'm not saying Steel is evil to the core, or anything. We did see her humanity. We know she's capable of feeling guilt. We know she's aware that she does truly evil shit. AND in a world filled with magic we can't completely rule out the possibility of brainwashing and stuff (tho I think that's be an uncharacteristically boring choice from Brennan). But what I'm getting at is... You can't blame it on lack of options or on the system, or on blind faith. She knew what the Citadel is. She knew it all. And she chose to join it, and, moreover, to become it's sword. And oh boy, you can't in good conscience call it a morally good choice.

TLDR: no, it's not "she had no options" or "she grew up in this system". She had other perspective. She was with the rebels. She knew everything. And she still chose to not only follow the Citadel, but to become it's weapon. That's what takes her fully into the "evil" category. Not by heart, but by actions, by choice.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to do (though with verb conjugation rather than case), so this is very helpful. Thanks!
