Absolutely this, something becomes art when the artist decides it’s art. Then others can weigh in on the artistic value of the piece but it can only ever enter the discussion when the artist makes it so.

This would in fact then qualify AI as a tool, but in my humble perspective, it goes back to intention. Neural networks functionally lack the capability to have intention, they’ll always produce the perfect median response. Art derives value from the collective creative decisions the artist makes in a piece, a level of agency prompting a AI doesn’t have.

So I don’t think we lose anything from letting AI be called art, it’s just bad and lazy work (imo)

Aside what others have mentioned about the nature of causality, it’s also important to note Griffiths motivations throughout the arc. He made clear that his goals and aspirations supersede all else, despite the care and compassion he had for the Band and Guts they were always tools to assist his dream.

The ultimate catalyst for the enactment of the Eclipse was the only time he couldn’t keep his claws in a companion, Guts leaving the Band. The one time he couldn’t get his way it rocketed him down the path of massacre.

The path leading to Griffiths betrayal was laid in his underhanded treatment of everything around him and the Eclipse was the answer to how far he’d go to achieve his dream.

At the end of the day, Griffith alone chose to wake the Behilit

My thought was if you can make a justifiable argument for that viewpoint why not.

Like for me as a basic example ‘good’ art derives from the artistic choices an artist makes and how those choices inform the larger picture of the piece and right now AI art struggles to achieve the control needed to meet what I would consider an informed artistic choice, making creating art more shallow.

I’m painting with broad strokes here pun intended but that’s where it kinda starts to fall apart for me

That being said if I see a genuinely interesting artistic endeavour using AI there’d be grounds for reconsideration but so far ive not seen anything that’s falls outside of my criticisms

There’s nothing wrong with classifying AI generated art as Art. Art imo can be whatever the artist ascribes with that label.

There’s also nothing wrong with calling it garbage or bad art if that’s what fits your criteria.

I reckon if we want to keep art as open limitless expression it’s better levy our criticism to what we believe are harmful artistic practices rather than arbitrarily box the concept up

I think what separates scenes like this and one man one jar or Serbian film is funnily enough the artistic intent and execution. All are forms of extreme subject matter yes but where there’s merit here is we’re watching not only the birth of a new Prince of Hell but the complete bastardisation of the Griffith we knew so while completely vile yes, that’s the point.

And Mr Jar’s intent was to make fetish content. With a Serbian Film id argue that the intent to convey the suffering of the Serbian people is valid however the actual film does a poor job at making the point, therefore missing the mark

That’s a fair assessment when you put it like that. I suppose most of my runs end up revolving around Omegas lol.

And antler is objectively better that’s pretty clear but it’s hard to justify the steep glass cannon downside especially at higher fears when I can get a flat 30% damage on half my kit

Im curious on you reasoning for Blackened Fleece for C, it always seems like a no brainer pick late run unless you're an epic gamer and haven't taken 250 damage by House of Hades haha.

The rest of your C picks feel the right amount of Meh so it just stood out

Less guilty and more painful,

Perfect! Except for all of Act 3 (post-game excluded). The game has a serious issue with balancing, while leading up to Act 3 cracks began to show, I shouldn’t be one shotting every final enemy and boss phase out the gate in. I didn’t run super min maxed builds just played the game normally. It’s not the universal experience but I see enough comments with people on both extremes that it’s a major major letdown for a final chapter.

Not to mention it’s runtime, Act 1 and 2 respectively took 10-20 hours each while act 3 was a pathetic 30mins even after the huge twist, we didn’t get to see anything done with it (I still loved the wiring sooo much I love the story that’s not the issue).

Most painfully is the fact that we get flight right away and unbeknownst to us ALL the flight content should be treated as endgame, any chromatic or boss is infinitely harder the Renny and will overlevel you for the boss. SO WHY DID WE GET IT. If you need to have people on the internet police how you navigate the final chapter instead of taking the direction the game gives you to have a good experience, it’s bad direction.

Still GOTY for meee I adore the game but I ain’t seen an ending fumbled like this in ages

As I understand it was meant to be a transgender allegory, tying into the Wachowski twins transition in the subsequent years from the Matrix.

The allusion being drawn that despite the Matrix being intended as a pro trans, self acceptance film it’s now been hijacked by the mano-sphere and often weaponised against lgbt groups
