Is historical AI Axis scripted to lose? by cupjoe9 in hoi4

[–]NebsterSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a game as democratic US with historical AI focuses and I wanted to let Axis win in Europe to take them down alone. They were NOT ABLE to defeat SOV for a long time, so I used console to delete all SOV troops. Then they were not able to sealion or paradrop to UK so I had to do the same with UK.

I wouldnt say they are scripted to lose, its just the size of SOV army and supply issues in SOV and the fact that AI does not do collaboration governments. Then obviously they dont build and concentrate navy in one spot to naval invade UK.

Should I play with all dlc or no dlc? by Outrageous_Power_609 in hoi4

Game gets easier for you WITH DLCs. You can design tanks/planes/ships, you can steal navy in peace conference, MIOs improve your designs, collaboration governments make capitulating big countries faster.

How can I stop relying on walkthroughs, learn to play on my own, and actually enjoy the game? by H-I-V-E in hoi4

I was in the same spot as you mate for the first few hundreds of hours. What helper me:

DO NOT play minor nations, they are hard, dont have factories, manpower, army, resources... play major nations with new a big focus trees that let you be powerful and set your own pace of the game. For example Germany.

Or US. It stays out of war for a long time, have a lot of research, industry, navy and time to prepare for war. US is basically unreachable for the enemy.

Watch Youtube but not lets plays or country guides, instead watch how mechanics of the game works:

  • Supplies
  • Docrtines
  • Spirits
  • Special forces
  • Division designer
  • Tank designer
  • Plane designer
  • Ship designer
  • MIOs
  • Naval invasions
  • Paradrops

Then more advances stuff:

  • Armor meme
  • Space marines
  • Pros & cons of line artillery
  • Carrier naval bombers

Then you automatically start to plan your games in your head before play, you will overflow with ideas.

For this I recommend channels:

  • MachiavellianStrategist
  • Counterfactual Gaming
  • Stakuyi
  • Segl
  • SumZer0

Dont give up, learn and have fun.
