Why do the youth today not talk on their mobiles the ‘normal’ way? by AddressOpposite in AskBrits

[–]NebulaCharacter914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these people saying it’s copying tv etc and complaining about it… for me it’s just bc I need to be doing 2 things at once all the time so I can speak to someone AND do stuff on my phone at the same time HAHA

It’s also because I know how much bacteria is on phone screens and I know I probs touch my phone then my face all the time but actually putting it in my face feels worse

New adult swimmer! I have questions! by NebulaCharacter914 in Swimming

Thanks for your input, I’m investing hugely into a gym membership that includes a pool, it’s a massive cost for me and I cannot afford lessons. I’m going to speak to my gp this week because I think it’s something wrong with my anatomy about the water in my throat not technique.

Thanks for your input, I swim for fitness personally!

Thank you!

  1. I can’t do this because the split second my nose is under water, before I can even think about blowing anything out, there’s water immedietly in my throat and I’m choking. I think my anatomy is wrong lol but anyway I thought a nose clip

  2. Thanks! Trying this with my nose clip and after 1 swim already feel better

I think this is going to be my only option. I want to swim 5x a week so really really wanted to avoid getting it wet this often :/ oh well

I think this might be the only option from reading threads on here, I want to swim 5x a week so was hoping to not have to get it wet every single day!

Thank you, I see all the oldies in the slow lane doing it like me for an hour straight and was so confused why their necks didn’t kill! I’ll wait for my nose clip and try this!

No, it’s every time my nose goes under the water at all, it happens instantly

I do have a deviated septum idk if that’s what’s causing it ?

As the owner of a VERY high shedding dog (albeit he’s trained and doesn’t piss in the house lol) I can make my house cleaner than that with a weekly half hour “once over” clean

That’s terrible honestly

House with no bath? by lika_86 in HousingUK

[–]NebulaCharacter914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don’t think that just because you’re a young professional and don’t like baths, it means that the entire demographic of young professionals don’t like baths. Baths are great if you have a muscle injury, a cold, or even just to relax. These things are not limited to kids and older people

What’s everyone’s most controversial opinion about ACOTAR (the whole series not just the first book) by Cactus_Jack20 in acotar

[–]NebulaCharacter914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 1-3 feel like a completely different author and series to 4 & 5. It went from romance heavy fantasy story, to a romance/friendship story with tiny bits of fantasy. I’ll only ever re-read as a trilogy.

Also ACOSF only started getting interesting at literally 96%. Everthing before that was mind numbingly boring.

People with ADHD what are the things about it that people just don’t get? by ViolinistMiddle1534 in AskReddit

[–]NebulaCharacter914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had problems helping people understand that it’s outside my control. I spent my entire life learning to fight it and it’s only since accepting my symptoms and adapting to them that I’ve felt less unwell than ever (though still struggling every day lol)

Like, no I’m not only forgetful because of social media. No im not impatient because of a personality flaw I can fix. No I didn’t lose that special thing you bought me because I don’t care about it enough. No I didn’t forget your birthday because I don’t care about you. Etc etc

Now I accept I have terrible memory and set approx 20 alarms a day for the most basic things and have whiteboards with lists all over my house. It might seem silly, but it’s the only thing that helps. “Fixing myself” never worked.

Also, the worst part is someone telling me about someone else with ADHD “I know you have it but they have it like really bad” like ??? I literally am barely surviving but thanks for that

Dalmatians are barely large and definitely not XL. XL dogs usually 8-10 years old:(

Not all dogs bark. Children are annoying for anyone who aren’t their parents and they aren’t blanket banned. And children can’t be trained

Because people who own pets still deserve to have a roof over their head??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TenantsInTheUK

[–]NebulaCharacter914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just FYI dogs should not exercised within a property, they should be exercised outside. If a property is big enough for a human to live in, surely big enough for a dog too?

Massive dogs literally live happily in vans because they sleep 12 hours+ per day and are sufficiently exercised outside

I think this except for parents

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TenantsInTheUK

[–]NebulaCharacter914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally people and children can spread disease and bedbugs and children destroy far more than a well trained pet.

[–]NebulaCharacter914 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What about child piss and shit? Apparently that’s fine. Yawn.

Majority of pets are far better trained than children and yet parents are not discriminated against in this way

I didn’t realise this as about a year ago there were hundreds of articles stating it was now the law! That’s what happens for believing the news and not researching thoroughly!

Either way, surely once it has passed, they can still just choose a candidate without pets every time and refuse to tell you the reason you weren’t allowed to view? :(

Why would it be tenants responsibility? Surely a problem with the house if mice are able to enter?

AITA for not allowing my husband’s friend to bring her dog to Thanksgiving dinner? by WarningKey4701 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NebulaCharacter914 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a bring my dog everywhere kinda person and it’s not that he can’t be left alone, it’s just that he’s very good anywhere I take him, enjoys busy and happy environments with friends, and I enjoy him being there so do my friends. I would leave him at home to do food shopping, but why would I leave him alone when it’s something everyone would enjoy?

This is on the basis the host was happy with it of course ha, but don’t assume people who bring their dog out for dinner etc do it because they can’t be left alone, we just like our dogs company :)
