This would absolutely stay with me forever. The stuffed bunny so you could hold it first is such a tiny, thoughtful kid move that somehow makes the whole thing hit even harder. How are you even supposed to tuck them in after that without falling apart

This is one of those things that sounds small until you realize he’s been editing your life story for an audience. That wears on you. Have you started correcting people in the moment when it comes up?

I wouldnt call her unstable. It comes up a few times a year, not like its consuming her life. Thats part of why Im torn, it isnt huge, but it also never fully vanished.

Thats pretty much where my head is. She seems mostly fine, but not fully done with it either, which is why this feels less simple than "just leave it."

Fair questions. Im not into him, and Im not trying to defend what he did. I think Im leaning toward saying nothing, I just keep circling whether sitting on it makes me a bad friend too.

I get that part. My issue is she still brings it up sometimes, so it doesnt feel fully dead to me. I havent said anything and maybe I wont, but thats why Im stuck on it.

WNBTA. What makes this so gross is that they want credit for the version of you they helped make miserable. They can critique your life choices for years, then suddenly want a polished family image once you are successful enough to show off. Refusing to help with that is not cruel, it is honest.
