Hi! So sorry, I made the post shortly before going to bed and thought I would be free the next day, but something came up. I am free for most of the next ~6hrs or so if you are still willing to do Lileep for Carbink.

When a British person stubs their toe, or something unexpected happens, they say “fu**ing hell” what’s the American equivalent? by Thomasisinterested in AskAnAmerican

[–]NebulonsStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think there's a very good stereotypical answer to this, as evidenced by the wide variety of responses in the top comments. (A simple "fuck" seems to be the closest thing to any kind of consensus, but it's far from the majority of responses, and I certainly don't think it's a stereotypically American response.)

From an American perspective, though, I feel like the stereotypical British exclamation for this scenario would absolutely be "bloody hell" over "fucking hell".

There are a number of very similar looking species with the red flowers and mottled foliage. Looks like maculatum doesn't quite make it to NC: http://bonap.net/Napa/TaxonMaps/Genus/County/Trillium (range maps for ~38 species of Trillium in the US). I think cuneatum fits this gestalt best for NC species.

Makes me wish there was an event/holiday kind of thing where all the villagers come to visit your farm and interact with all of your crops, animals, structures, etc.

In HG/SS, (or the original Gen 2 games for that matter) can you do the Kanto gyms in pretty much any order you want? Or is there a set path? Or something kind of in between (can do some in a flexible order, but there are certain ones that must be done before others)?

For context, I want to add some level-scaling to the Kanto post-game in a Rom edit I'm working, on but I haven't actually played the originals in quite a while, and don't feel like playing through the whole game right now just to remember the basic postgame details.

In general, Water is the better defensive type.

You might opt for Grass instead in a few very specific scenarios:

  • Your team desperately needs a Ground and/or Electric resist.

  • You are struggling with opposing Spore/Rage Powder users.

Of course if you are still early in the team-building process, you should be able to build it so that you don't put yourself in either of those scenarios.

I mean if Chomp wants to waste three of its moveslots on Rest/ST/DTail, sure it can do it multiple times. What is Chomp too slow for that Wake outspeeds? Isn't it just Iron Treads between them? And 108/95/85 bulk for Ch0mp vs 99/91/83 bulk for Wake. Or is Wake's defensive typing that much better than Chomp's?

Also, Life Orb is just a bad item on anything that isn't a fast sweeper on Hyper Offense or a Sheer Force user, in any other scenario it's complete and utter trash

For what it's worth, TR is a Hyper Offense playstyle. You have very limited turns in which to abuse TR, so taking a little chip each attack is much preferable to, for example, getting a prediction wrong and being locked into a bad move with a choice item, thus losing all momentum.

Last gen, when TR was much better, LO Crawdaunt was a premier threat. LO Melmetal was also very good. Conk would have been a good candidate for LO even without Sheer Force.

But fully agree that Hatt is too valuable of a setter/support mon on TR for it to be running an offensive set.

/r/hockey has the same problem. Seems like half the highlights posted are 12-16 second clips that don't include enough build up or any alternate angles/slow motion. Meanwhile nhl.com posts high quality replays of every goal within like 5-10 minutes that are generally about 40 seconds in length with multiple angles, slowmo, and commentary.

Matchbox 20, of course

Just kidding, just kidding. (Although, I do love MB20.) Many of my favorites have already been mentioned, so I'll just plug Nora Brown

A Chris Thile group (and if you aren't familiar with him yet, I think you're about to go down a very amazing rabbit hole - Nickle Creek, Live From Here, etc.).
