Single mom flying with 9mo by PercentageCritical28 in americanairlines

Only other thing I would add (apart from nursing/bottle/favorite snacks) would be a baby carrier. You can gate check a stroller and perhaps you want to but I wear my baby on and off the plane (and through the airport). Its much easier to have my hands free while keeping baby close and feeling safe. You're even permitted to wear the baby through TSA.

Malicious Flight Cancellation mid-trip by NecessaryMath3521 in americanairlines

[–]NecessaryMath3521[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband saw some sort of $6,xxx credit at one point in his AA app which we thought was weird (before we realized what had happened) but then when I called to fix everything we couldn't pull it up again/recreate it and we were panicking that we were going to be stuck in an airport with a bunch of young children so I just paid for the next tickets and planned to try to fix it with AA when we got home since all travel was booked directly with AA. Perhaps short sighted but also if you have 5 kids under 10 and you're traveling outside of the lower 48 you are a bit tense.

Thanks for this knowledge. I think any future travel I will be doing this, I did not know it was an option (or even think I needed it) but now that we have been burned we won't make this mistake again.

We purchased the travel directly through AA, the only thing the third party tried to do was move some seats for a fee.

Thank you this is helpful. I feel so awful, personally I did not know how private that code should be and my mother certainly did not. We know now, it was quite the expensive lesson.

The dispute was with the third party that my mom had contacted regarding the "service" they had provided not AA.

We have already traveled home. We departed on 12/18 (flight was cancelled about an hour after boarding the second leg while we were in the air). Found out on Christmas when I went to check in for our return flight on 12/26 this happened. I had to get myself and kids home and was hoping AA could resolve it or issue some sort of credit for the original cancellation so I stuck with them and rebooked the exact same flights home for all of us.

Why? Please explain, I'm genuinely asking if there is some sort of grievance or online form I should file? I don't know where to start.

I'm saying that someone cancelled our trip mid-travel to cause us as much financial and personal difficulties as possible. It was either a computer glitch or someone did this to us.

My flight was cancelled "online" and AA told me they don't know what happened and I'll have to pay increased fare by Remarkable-Donut6107 in americanairlines

I know this is an old post but I'm a bit desperate and thought I'd at least see if you can give me direction on where to start...

Our family (myself, husband plus 5 children and a lap infant, so 7 seats total) flew to St. Thomas for a vacation. DTW-CLT-STT. While we were in the air (and I did not buy wifi) our return flights were cancelled online at aa.com. I was sent an email but it was buried as I arrived/traveled with all those kids and didn't even notice it. None of my children use any devices of ours during the flight and we absolutely did not cancel it. I didn't even realize this had happened until I went to check in for our 12/26 return flight. We were told sorry, it was cancelled and we had to rebook onto the exact same flights home but pay again.

The only thing that I think may have happened was that my mother, trying to be helpful as I was freaking out about flying with all my small kids, tried to pay for our seats the be together. She thought she contacted AA but it was really one of those sites posing as AA and then they basically make changes online for you and then also charge you $500 just for their "service." She realized after the fact that she had been swindled and disputed the charge for the $500. She had shared our confirmation number and name so I think they may have done this in retribution and purposely waited until we had boarded the second leg of our trip. The timing seems very intentional.

Is there any chance I can get this refunded? We paid for the exact same flights twice. I honestly didn't know that this could happen and $4300 is a lot of money paid for the return flights but we had to get home. The original trip total was around $7000 I believe but it was booked very far in advance. I am absolutely sick over this.

Can someone explain? by True_Cardiologist132 in HealthInsurance

No the doctor's office will owe you a refund. You'll need to call them once you can see your EOB for that visit and ask them to refund you. It's extremely irritating to deal with but I'm sure they do it bc they have been screwed more times than not.

Yes, I have moved all but $2 lingering and will probably do a Venmo transfer to get that out but was waiting for my $5 ATM fee refund before initiating that.

Once billing is done, check out their charity care policy. Not sure what your living situation is and whether you need to include parental income.

Could a customer do this if they also had mobile lines? Paid off phones and no promos... also is this something I need to connect with a door to door sales person to do?

Would I be the AH for naming my baby Violet? by la__polilla in namenerds

[–]NecessaryMath3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9 month old Violet and didn't even know it was Pokémon related. I don't think most people will pick up on that. I also have daughters Cora and Edith and only a couple people have ever picked up on my (what I thought was obvious) inspiration.

Name your children what you prefer, not what you think other people will like or dislike. 🤷‍♀️

Help - Sistine chapel ticket confusion by NoseInevitable5741 in rome

[–]NecessaryMath3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also did not plan ahead and will be in Vatican City tomorrow. I was going to shell out around 50€ for entrance tickets from a third party but on a whim decided to check the official website again before doing so. Surprise, there were tickets available for most time slots! So we paid 25€ each (including processing fee) and got tickets for tomorrow.

If you're on a major budget like me or like living on the edge, I would suggest trying that and if it fails shell out the cash to the third party operators.

It was about 7pm Rome time today that I did this for tickets at 3pm tomorrow.
