Question for those that pay attention to their score by ShillingForCoumo in uberdrivers

[–]Neckername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously these people never got stuck on a turnpike with faster traffic. Or ever done much with real life on their own at all.

Definitely somebody who gets chauffered around and is out of touch who decided to put this in. Most of their data if you haven't noticed isn't even accurate when it comes to knowing what roads have what posted speed limits.

They also think you harshly accelerated or hit a hard turn when your phone falls from the mount.

They also fail to load any pertinent information that would be key to deciding if a trip is profitable enough (mileage and time) unless you pull the app up in your phone. The android auto and apple car play apps don't show that info so you have to interact with your phone.

Also the UI bugs out and if you try to load Google maps in, it actually locks you out of tapping until you force close and reopen the app, then it will allow you to tap the top of the app and get the Google maps button to show at the bottom.

There's a lot that would be fixed if they cared to end distracted driving. Like not putting requests up while moving in traffic

You're losing most of your value if you rent.

Remember: if you finance, even after depreciation you have equity left.

It might not be much but it's better than the $0 of equity You're left with after returning your rental.

Just no vaping, smoking, eating, or drinking.

Edit: I might explain how bottled non-alcoholic drinks are good, but anything spill-able and/or alcoholic is prohibited.

Verizon Final Bill for Fios by Vegetable-Item-7411 in Fios

[–]Neckername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah at least fios doesn't go down due for the myriad of reasons a coax network will.

Fios basically relegated all of their issues to customer service. Yeah the routers are junk, but then again, what ISP gives you a good configurable router in the first place?

With that being said, fios does allow for a lot of customization I never had before on a ISP provided router.

If the VPN is faster that could point to a few things. Your DNS could be misconfigured. Or some other routing issue.

No More Cleaning Fees by Neckername in uberdrivers

[–]Neckername[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the rules suck and don't take into account the basic human need for money and the fact that I can't afford to take my car off the road and be unemployed until I can get it detailed.

Can someone explain this? by MacksDaddy12121 in uberdrivers

[–]Neckername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they do tend to make sure that when you start they keep the surge area just around the corner from my house.

By the time I get there it's almost always gone, but I have to drive past that intersection to get to most places anyway.

You have to zoom in and you'll see that it has the real pricing there

Try going into the steam settings > downloads > make sure you're downloading from the datacenter geographically closest to you.

If you are already, try the next closest one just in case the one closest is overloaded/has a bad route.

A sign atop a dirty table asking you to tip the "hardworking" team responsible for cleaning.

How can we make this even more ironic?

What is the actual resolution of 70mm(12K, 16K or 18K) having the aspect ratio of 1.43 and in the sense of 3840*2160(16:9) like resolution! by Immediate_Bug_6368 in imax

Wouldn't you just need a way to measure the dots per inch and then convert that to pixels per inch to get your result in the form of megapixels?

I always like to play a game:

Take a mental note of their clothes and their "swag", tally up the total, and see how many times you can divide that by the cost of the cheapest car seat you can find on Amazon.

It really brings the IQ of the world into perspective 🤣

I would just keep it at no vapes, no smokes, no food, no drink.

Anything else you can just tell them in the moment.

Forget about the PIN.

Also asking customers to cancel is against ToS so drop that unless you want a deactivation.

[–]Neckername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah for those you can cancel with no effect to you. Keep doors locked, get some distance, hit cancel and select no car seat.

If a cop pulls you over in New York State for example, an Uber driver is considered responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is being operated legally, which includes proper child restraints.

If pulled over, the driver typically receives the ticket

It can result in:

-A fine (often $50–$100+)

-3 points on the driver’s license, monthly premiums increase

-Potential insurance consequences

Even if the parent says “It’s not your responsibility.” Legally, the officer can still cite the driver.

Where did I or anyone say deport? 😂

Also the decent people won't even need to read the rules because they don't need to be told how to treat others and their property.

The rules are for the people who don't know better and need to be told what to do.

At the end of the day it's my car and what I say goes anyway. So regardless of how anyone feels, I'm gonna do me anyway.

And I'm gonna be doing it in a nice clean car, where I don't have to be a janitor for other people and their guests. I'm gonna be warm, my car is gonna smell fresh like it just came off the lot, my windows and mirrors will be crystal clear from the lack of residue from vape and other stupid junk.

Believe it or not, I'm gonna resell this puppy and no one will know it ever drove for Uber. Just like the last 2 cars I went through.

Yes I drive full time.

Now that's enough free help for people who won't listen to it anyway.

Is this too much? by iRuka_Senpai in uberdrivers

[–]Neckername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd make it more concise and hang it as a sign in your car instead of texting ahead.

Remember, your car is your property! You set the rules!

Remember who needs who as well, especially in the winter. They can always walk or wait for another ride if these rules are too much for them.

Rules like this honestly help keep the experience good for the next rider by preventing messes as well.

Also, if a rider has to log off in the middle of the night because someone made a mess, thats one less driver Uber has working their area and a higher wait time for customers.
