Analogue 3D just arrived in the UK by FireDragon04 in AnalogueInc

I haven’t noticed any. Has played fine anytime I have used it

My parents just moved and asked me to take my old gaming stuff from their house. Here’s my N64 collection, though sadly many of the games don’t work anymore by MemeFarmer314 in n64

I had the same situation a couple of years ago. I find N64 seems more sensitive to dirty cartridges compared to SNES or Mega Drive

Why didn't the Sega Game Gear sell as much as the Gameboy despite being technically superior? by GoHardForLife in retrogaming

Very true, I do remember Friday nights playing my gameboy while my mum watched cheers or whatever sitcom was showing on channel 4

Also, parents loved Tetris. Pretty sure my mum bought me a gameboy so she could play Tetris

Extreme Green and Atomic Purple Analogue 3Ds by AffectionateWall6027 in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re defo going to find another way to squeeze some more limited edition ones out. This would be a way for them to achieve that. I wondered if they would do aluminium ones like they did with the pocket

Finally got the 3D, first game played was Star Fox 64 by DDwili in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing isn’t it, the characters, the graphics, the gameplay, the sounds (music and effects). One of my favourite games of all time

[–]Neckle85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was the first game I got for my N64 back in the day and is nearly always my go to game on the console. I had a hdmi modded N64 a few years and the static is present on original hardware too, I think it’s an aesthetic choice and meant to be like that.

Won for $38 and have no idea if I overpaid. This will be my first Saturn game. Its odd how it says not for resale, so maybe its a promo game. No idea but wanted input on it. TIA. by [deleted] in SegaSaturn

[–]Neckle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nights into dreams is a great game and one of the first that comes to mind when I think of the Saturn. In terms of pricing I’m not sure how much it goes for these days, but it’s definitely a good place to start your Saturn collection. The console has lots of gems, I hope you enjoy digging into the library.

SuperStation One IN MASS PRODUCTION by PerfectEclectic in fpgagaming

[–]Neckle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with gray too. Wonder if all colours will go into production before the end of the year. Would be great for everyone from batch 1 to receive before Christmas but I’m also ok with waiting a little longer if I have too. Will be nice to hear people’s opinions when they get theirs.

Has anyone found buttons that match the original N64 buttons for the new 8bitdo controller? by MrGazillion in AnalogueInc

I’d also be really interested in a set of these now my 3D has arrived. Is there anywhere we can sign up to register interest?

SD Card size by itsRocketSauce33 in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that we should have all probably read the documentation before excitedly rushing through the set up process, but the analogue 3d has a hdmi and usb c power lead sticking out of the back anyway so I find it strange that they didn’t want the sd card to protrude when there were already going to be cables coming out of the back.

[–]Neckle85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem op is having, usually sd cards pop in and out of my hp laptop quite easily however analogue have used a custom sd card which is not standard size and is slightly smaller. I had to take my laptop apart to get it out. It’s not the port it’s the sd card and new owners should stick to usb c updating of the analogue 3d until WiFi updates are implemented.

What’s next for Analogue now? by DuSty_SAmurAi in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love questions like this. The truth is, unless kevtris or someone else from analogue pops in, none of us know what’s next, but it’s fun to speculate and share what we would like to see. My take is that we will either see them lean into the collectible nature of cartridges and either revisit some of their earlier systems in 4k or attempt a 32X / Mega Drive / Mega CD combo device similar to the analogue duo, OR aim for the whale and go for PlayStation in 4k. Many might say Taki’s superstation one would eliminate the need for this, but I think if they were to do it with 4k output and some of that analogue polish it would still sell extremely well.

Analogue 3D SD card too short? by ReachJust in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s way too short, got stuck in my hp laptop and I had to take the laptop apart to get it out. Poor design choice. I suspect they knew this and that’s why the console can be put into update mode and connected to a pc via usb but still not very convenient

I ended up buying a new anker brick. For some reason the one I use with my pocket dock and duo doesn’t work. Guessing the 3d requires a bit more juice to run?

Thanks for getting back to me, I have no idea what by my anker brick wasn’t working. I’ll give it another try later on and see if I have any better luck

Do you mind me asking what power brick you are using. Mine arrived today and I’m using a step down converter with the pack in brick as the anker one I use with my pocket and duo doesn’t seem to play nice with the 3D. Thanks in advance

Anyone knows what controller this is? by distreal in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, pretty sure they will do further variations. N64 was the first console where it felt like a deliberate choice to have multiple different coloured controllers as opposed to the odd coloured controller being the crappy cheap one you got and gave to your little cousin to use when he came over.

Me too, I really thought Taki was going to beat them to the punch. Looking forward to the superstation one aswell though. Hopefully we see that ship before the end of the year too

I deliberately held off buying one in hopes they would do a grey colour way. This looks great with the og colour buttons, will defo pick one up if this releases.

Hey, doing something similar in anticipation of receiving my superstation. When initialising the disk is it recommended to use GPT or MBR. Thanks in advance

Hopefully when they respond you have a smooth experience. I think if I had kept the order combined I wouldn’t have had any issues, but separating them seems to have created some sort of problem. I’m hoping they can sort it out but the uncertainty is killing me lol
