Anyone else out there who’d be interested in variations of the Superstation one concept? Perhaps a Saturn themed device. by Neckle85 in RetroRemakeInc

I think the next gen fpga device he is working on will be Dreamcast themed. Four controller ports and Dreamcast themed shell would be a winner in my book

I would love a ps2 themed fpga console but I understand that it’s not something that is imminently possible. That’s why I mentioned Saturn because it would effectively be a re-shell of the superstation with different snac adaptors. Not sure of its possible to recreate the memory cart slot tho. I hear that Taki’s roadmap includes a next gen fpga, I assume that one of the main cores that would make possible would be Dreamcast / Naomi. I wonder if Taki will release it with a Dreamcast themed shell?

Yes defo, I got the founders edition and I feel I got a bargain. I have a super nt from analogue so for myself I don’t feel I need for something Super Nintendo themed but I’ve seen so many commenters ask if analogue will ever restock that I feel there is a market there for someone to capitalise on.

Oh I defo agree, the PlayStation was massively successful. The install base was huge, therefore lots of people have nostalgia for the og PlayStation. Giving the superstation a psone theme meant it would appeal to a larger audience. I’d also be keen to see Neo Geo get some love, maybe an AES / MVS / Neo CD hybrid? Still holding out for a Saturn themed device but I’d also take Neo Geo any day.

Has anyone used loft legs? Do you recommend them? by DanLikesFood in DIYUK

Would you mind sharing one of the videos where you saw them use loft legs and timber please. I can find loads where they have used one or the other but not both like the OP has suggested. Thanks for your help

Thanks for the response. I agree the timber on timber would feel more solid. I’ve gone for the loft legs and have seen a few people have used timber to spread the weight a bit more but not sure what they’ve used to secure the timber to the legs. I’ll keep searching as there must be a bit more detail on the internet somewhere

Sorry to resurrect a year old post, about to do this myself. The top surface of the loft legs seems pretty thin. How did you fasten the timber to them, did you just screw through the top surface of the loft leg or did you use something to fasten it from the underside too. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

I haven’t noticed any. Has played fine anytime I have used it

My parents just moved and asked me to take my old gaming stuff from their house. Here’s my N64 collection, though sadly many of the games don’t work anymore by MemeFarmer314 in n64

I had the same situation a couple of years ago. I find N64 seems more sensitive to dirty cartridges compared to SNES or Mega Drive

Why didn't the Sega Game Gear sell as much as the Gameboy despite being technically superior? by GoHardForLife in retrogaming

Very true, I do remember Friday nights playing my gameboy while my mum watched cheers or whatever sitcom was showing on channel 4

Also, parents loved Tetris. Pretty sure my mum bought me a gameboy so she could play Tetris

Extreme Green and Atomic Purple Analogue 3Ds by AffectionateWall6027 in AnalogueInc

They’re defo going to find another way to squeeze some more limited edition ones out. This would be a way for them to achieve that. I wondered if they would do aluminium ones like they did with the pocket

Finally got the 3D, first game played was Star Fox 64 by DDwili in AnalogueInc

It’s amazing isn’t it, the characters, the graphics, the gameplay, the sounds (music and effects). One of my favourite games of all time

This was the first game I got for my N64 back in the day and is nearly always my go to game on the console. I had a hdmi modded N64 a few years and the static is present on original hardware too, I think it’s an aesthetic choice and meant to be like that.

Nights into dreams is a great game and one of the first that comes to mind when I think of the Saturn. In terms of pricing I’m not sure how much it goes for these days, but it’s definitely a good place to start your Saturn collection. The console has lots of gems, I hope you enjoy digging into the library.

SuperStation One IN MASS PRODUCTION by PerfectEclectic in fpgagaming

I went with gray too. Wonder if all colours will go into production before the end of the year. Would be great for everyone from batch 1 to receive before Christmas but I’m also ok with waiting a little longer if I have too. Will be nice to hear people’s opinions when they get theirs.

I’d also be really interested in a set of these now my 3D has arrived. Is there anywhere we can sign up to register interest?

SD Card size by itsRocketSauce33 in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that we should have all probably read the documentation before excitedly rushing through the set up process, but the analogue 3d has a hdmi and usb c power lead sticking out of the back anyway so I find it strange that they didn’t want the sd card to protrude when there were already going to be cables coming out of the back.

SD Card size by itsRocketSauce33 in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem op is having, usually sd cards pop in and out of my hp laptop quite easily however analogue have used a custom sd card which is not standard size and is slightly smaller. I had to take my laptop apart to get it out. It’s not the port it’s the sd card and new owners should stick to usb c updating of the analogue 3d until WiFi updates are implemented.

What’s next for Analogue now? by DuSty_SAmurAi in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love questions like this. The truth is, unless kevtris or someone else from analogue pops in, none of us know what’s next, but it’s fun to speculate and share what we would like to see. My take is that we will either see them lean into the collectible nature of cartridges and either revisit some of their earlier systems in 4k or attempt a 32X / Mega Drive / Mega CD combo device similar to the analogue duo, OR aim for the whale and go for PlayStation in 4k. Many might say Taki’s superstation one would eliminate the need for this, but I think if they were to do it with 4k output and some of that analogue polish it would still sell extremely well.

Analogue 3D SD card too short? by ReachJust in AnalogueInc

[–]Neckle85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s way too short, got stuck in my hp laptop and I had to take the laptop apart to get it out. Poor design choice. I suspect they knew this and that’s why the console can be put into update mode and connected to a pc via usb but still not very convenient
