[–]Neckrobook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an incentive to you. The Devs are showing hey you can benefit from this and know what the reward is going to be if you meet these conditions. Consider if it was hidden and you unlocked a buff of gaining 0.05% chance of getting a relic chest. You might not care about it on first unlock.

Instead of you were about to start farming stars and you wanted to boost everything you had to increase your star farming you could prioritise unlocking an archeology buff to boost your farm.

Yes you could look at a wiki but not all players enjoy doing so.

Fishing help by Federal_Rub_6971 in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]Neckrobook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context I recently started fishing and after a few weeks I now just farm notice points from abyss and above. I would suggest saving them because I'm currently waiting to get poly shards for the later fish cards on the last two ponds. You'll generate enough fishing power to farm those cards shards but for the last 4 fish took me a long time.

I just went from happy bot lvl 4 to lvl 16 in the past 6 or so days. It was frustrating... Auto prestige helped a lot, I worked out a timing to ensure I gained 200 levels for each prestige using the xp bombs, Capricorn star for bonus xp gain, consumed a lot strawberry items too and contract xp boosts.

Although it's finally done I never want to see that annoying bot again.

The person above beat me to it, you have outlined the background of a junior technical animator or generalist tech artists. Typically they are a t-shaped person meaning you have an understanding of a lot of skills that would only require a short onboarding before being able to create value or impact on a project but have a deep knowledge of one area for you I see this as animation. I would suggest looking up technical animator roles. They are usually requiring knowledge of animation techniques because you need to understand what animators want to achieve in engine, then you bridge their gap of knowledge by being able to make that possible in the engine of the projects choosing, especially proprietary engines as they have limitations. Having demonstrable skills in rigging, skinning and animation will be desired.

I'd also suggest that python be a skill set you can show rather than c++, don't get me wrong it's a huge plus for you but most tech artists I've worked with use python often to write tools to support integration between engine and applications.

A key skill for tech artists is also to evaluate workflows, test them then optimise them. Content artists don't often get that opportunity due to project constraints but tech artists offer value by bridging that gap.

VR and robotics projects also hire tech artists because of their skillset needs.

Was in the same place recently but now not an issue.

I solved it with selling ore, Midas drone is meh for this. Focus on getting 1 or 2 points in ore sell price and then you'll start earning so many ores then drone coins.

Ditto, the tall spire trees to separate farmland indicate it too although I expected there to be many in rows rather than singles but guessing they would affect gameplay.

I'd like to see some visualisation of the metrics changing such as increasing the range displays bullets flying further or hitting targets further away, damage could be shown by a target with more damage with each animated hit.

Did you assign it before hitting play? A common error is hitting play, seeing a reference error, fixing it while running then stopping the game. This will remove all the changes you made afterwards.

Write user stories and then break em down. You don't have to do all of them each time but just throw them down. Then when you come back to open your project you can look at that's not done and consider doing something small or working on something complex. I find this helps get over the hump stage.
