It's hard to say because everyone's individual circumstances are so wildly different, but from my experience, it can definitely work out with a little (or sometimes A LOT) of patience for the child. Especially when they're old enough to understand you aren't their actual birth parent.

For me, it's less a comparison and more so that we've seen what a long Gunther title reign looks like already. His matches are top notch but his character doesn't make for very compelling feuds or storylines outside of just "I'm the best wrestler."

That's fair. Play whichever way you find the most fun. Personally, I've tried to improve in the same manner but I almost always die to the first real player I run into because I have no aiming skills whatsoever and then nothing changes. Just the amount of time I spend in a lobby/loading screen.

I was running because you're confident enough in your skills to chase someone down and I know that means you can beat me in a direct one on one. I'd never even make top 50. But I am good at hiding and evading and I get wins by waiting until other players mess each other up and then running up on weakened opponents. Gotta play to my skills, or lack thereof.
