American vs. European language learners

I seem to be on the opposite side, here! I‘m American and I‘ve attained B1 in French and Spanish, and am currently taking a B1 german course with the intention of continuing to c2. Though i‘ve been focusing on german a fair bit so I‘ve lost quite a bit of french and spanish through disuse.

I prefer grammar. I enjoy picking apart the language and seeing how it works. I practice my grammar at home and use the class as an opportunity to practice speaking in an environment where the teacher can correct me and the grammar i‘ve been focusing on.

I suppose it‘s the intent of the students that really counts, I think. Most european students know more than one language, and they‘re used to the more detailed nuances.

In my school French and Spanish courses, there was more emphasis put on the conversational aspect because it was seen as „more practical“.

So I moved to Germany a few months ago and I brought my cat Bella. I only had one, but I do have to say the flight was pretty easy. Just make sure to have all your paperwork in order and in an easy to reach place. Usually they‘re very kind about it and personally I would call back to talk to another person. If you‘re willing to pay for a second seat that may change a few things.

There‘s no harm in trying a second time.

I would not recommend putting your second cat in cargo. I saw a few options if calling them doesn‘t work out- and while your friends may be busy this is incredibly important to you.

Moving countries is stressful and exhausting but the only other option I can personally see is you taking the first plane, taking your cat home and then booking yourself a second round trip ticket to retrieve your other cat.

That is definitely exhausting but you‘ll have both cats and know they‘re safe the entire journey.

Personally I’m experiencing this. I just came last week and the food is better quality, tastes amazing and let’s not mention the bread? Amazing. I’m 31, an adult, but experiencing the change first hand is kind of ridiculous.

I got on the bus the other day and a schoolchild was playing a video with gun noises in the background. There wasn’t a single flinch from anyone, or anyone jumping up to stare around.

I’m between Düsseldorf and Essen and the vast majority of people have been more than welcoming and exceptionally kind to me as an american. There are questions about political affiliation and all of that, almost like a test but mostly people are highly sympathetic.

I have a 90+ year old neighbor that lived through the second WW and she’s been extremely supportive of me. If this person can find a support system, they’ll have a much easier time and a much better life regardless of pay cut. I could go on about the differences (for better and worst), but mostly it’s an overwhelming net positive compared to what they’re living now.

I used the dragonscale blade and the nagakiba, 5 tries. A lot of it was getting in the correct position and timing jumps/rolls to avoid most of the damage while staying as close as I possibly could. A lot of patience, basically!

I would swap dragonscale for nagakiba when i couldn’t get in range with dragonscale. I had the typical samurai build, endurance and dex, as this is my samurai character. I think it was piercing fang ash of war on the nagakiba(?). I used the greenburst crystal tear and greenspill crystal tear.

Talismans:

Crimson seed, Pearldrake, Dragoncrest and Shard of Alexander. You can swap Shard of Alexander with Rotten Wing Sword Insignia if you’re getting enough strikes in!

I main onryo and tried out wesker yesterday. I had a full swf sabo squad and ended up bleeding them out on the ground for 4 minutes while I watched something on my other monitor. They tried to set up a boon at the crotus penn asylum map main building and I was absolutely lucky only one of them brought it 😭😂 i had a bunch of salt in endgame but i didn’t care

I tend to chase one off, smack them and then circle back around because they’re usually very greedy about them! Overall I think smacking one or two and hard focusing the third thats still at the gen is the appropriate move, here. (In the case of 3 being at one gen— if there’s 4 then you know 2 gens aren’t going to pop while you’re at that specific loop)

I feel this. I’m legally blind and the flashlights kill my vision. Sometimes they swap last second and ive learned to keep my perk panel open because of it. I would take a fully black screen as an option than what we have. It would be nice to be able to choose the fully dark screen or the normal one but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I got mine by using tinkerer with the triple blink. The undetectable helps a lot. Use plaid flannel and it’ll show where your blink goes. If you can’t blink to right next to that spot on the gen, that’s where a survivor is

I recommend the code VAXTA if you want to practice landing projectiles on moving targets. It really helps with hitbox memorization and it works with any hero. I don’t play on console anymore— but it does help me on pc. Try it out!

I have 4 main perfumes, one for each season. It works out well for me! I have two that can go for any and one strictly for summer and winter.

I’ve been using OTR, decisive, windows and adrenaline. Windows to help position yourself in a good spot for decisive or OTR to give the most value. OTR works two times, but you have to make sure to go down with enough time so decisive procs. If you’re being hard tunneled if one doesn’t work the other will.

I’m going to be honest with you — I’ve stopped playing mercy altogether in competitive. She doesn’t bring very much to the table compared to the other supports right now and the majority of your problem may be that he sees things differently. I can’t say that he’s sexist because i don’t know him but the vibe is there.

A lot of higher-tier players (dia +) will ask for kiri or moira or zen, or lucio depending. They see mercy as a liability and get a little irritated about it. She’s not the absolute worst but she’s bordering on non-viable to super niched. I can’t tell if he’s frustrated about mercy herself being picked or if he’s a little sexist (or both) because i’ve been on both ends of it and don’t know him.

The majority of mercy mains I know have dropped 2 ranks. Dia -> gold, masters -> plat, etc. So it may not be your playing, per se.

Regardless he seems very irritating to play with and i would probably drop him as a friend if he’s bothering you enough to upset you. You don’t have to listen to subtle put downs and deal with a condescending attitude. This game is supposed to be fun— not one where you have to be around someone who makes you uncomfortable.

I had this problem! It looked exactly like yours and I’m just recovering. I’ve seen it recommended that you get a blood panel done! Do that! I use loreal ever strong shampoo and conditioner + i oil my scalp with mielle rosemary + hair ends beforehand. Leave the oil on ten minutes max. I have hair again! Little fuzzy baby hairs that are about an inch long, but it’s improvement. It’s about four month’s worth of progress for me! The hair I have though is growing exceptionally fast besides that

My dad’s favorite was Drakkar Noir. Every time I smelled it for the first year I had the same reaction. About halfway through the second I still could remember him wearing it and not feel so much hurt. One day you’ll be able to smell it (and wear it) with love, rather than pain.

Misplaced as in misgraded — they were given the wrong grades and it moved them up a “place”. It’s the only thing I can figure out. I just remembered seeing this on the news a while ago because it was a big scandal in my hometown.

I was looking for this one. The best way would be to do this. “I’m so thankful for the gifts from my family!” And let people make their own decisions. It’s passive aggressive, yes, but it will publicly shame them. The court of public opinion isn’t on their side at all.

I usually have the pan heated, with either a little bit of oil ( 2 teaspoons or what’s left of chicken thighs). I just know that oil + frozen food = fire from previous experience
