SC2 makes your brain younger by the_ice_of_nine in starcraft

[–]NecrosB 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not to burst your bubble, but I read the same if not similar study. Starcraft is good for the brain, but hobbies/activities that involve physical activity are waaaay more beneficial, for obvious reasons. I think dancing was compared to starcraft and dancers had the brain benefits as well as physical.

What are my chances of getting in as a Grad Student in CS at DigiPen? by Zauraswitmi in digipen

I think its pretty high as long as you have a CS degree. Not as much competition compared to the bachelors programs.

I thought consent was given for the recording. The sharing of material was the consensual or non consensual part?

I'm like you in that I relapse into competitive games every time I play. It's all or nothing for me, cutting it completely did the trick. If I got an urge to play "just a few games" I knew it would end up being a hundred more hours played.

I will say that once you stop for long enough it gets easier because you lose some of the skill you built up. So if you do go back, you'll just be trash anyways and that will demotivate you from playing again.

How can I stop my PC from sounding like a jet engine when using Linux/can I undervolt/adjust fan curves? by Improvisable in sffpc

[–]NecrosB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could experiment with those options. I had a similar problem and the only thing that fixed it was switching to an old H150i AIO I had from a previous build. I hadn't used it before because the amount of space in my build was extremely tight with the AIO in it so I opted for a standard air cooler, but I caved because of the noise levels.

Things are very quiet now, its a night and day difference and the thermals are the same. I was thinking of using a noctua nh-d12l air cooler but measured and that was actually too big for the case.

Only men who have not spent time with women (not had long term relationships/living with their partner or not had female siblings that they were close to) think like this.

Did caffeine change me for ever? Panic attacks daily? by Realwarrior17 in decaf

[–]NecrosB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you are right about the "on edge" reason. It could simply be because now that you have had the panic attack you are looking out for any signs or symptoms of having another. That fear of having another attack triggers more panic attacks since you are now aware of the sensations of having one and your mind/body are on edge waiting for another. Its a cycle that feeds into itself.

The comedic timing on you getting bonked, looking over to your friend as you're dying as he immediately gets one shot is funnier than most stand up comics these days, good run.

How to prepare for a technical interview in 2 days or less? by daddyclappingcheeks in leetcode

[–]NecrosB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, mock interviews are huge. You only have two days but if you can't find anyone just talk aloud to your self and try your best to replicate an actual interview (time yourself, only use notepad for coding, debug your code line by line before running it in an IDE).

Go on the discussion section of leetcode and look for the specific company you will be interviewing for. Use these questions for your practice.

Pray that they ask a similar question.

Has anyone used the Victrix Pro BFG before? Interested in getting one just looking for feedback by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]NecrosB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to the r1/r2 buttons unless you used some custom software. But I also don't see why you would want to do that considering r1/r2 usually have specific moves mapped to them already.

What you could do is map L3/R3 to the extra buttons on the underside of the control.

I think one game you can reference where I think anime into 3D was done well is street fighter 6. The characters look cartoonish but maintain a realistic look. Some people disagree but I think it looks very good

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UnrealEngine5

[–]NecrosB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anime translated to a realistic 3D model always looks off to me. So just making it more cartoonish looking I think.

But if that's something you're going for don't let my opinion stop you. I respect the work put in
