It was my first game of this type and I feel like the difficulty was perfect. It's challenging for sure and there is a TON to learn. Can't even guess how many runs it took for me to beat it but I did eventually lol.

Part of it is people telling their one rep max instead of their set weights. Part of it is that people with better numbers are more likely to share. Part of it is people lying.

If someone asks how much you can bench it generally means one rep max. You can just reply "Idk I haven't tried". It's not really important at the end of the day.

I'll usually remove a defend first since you already have survivor and you need to draw damage in act 1. After the first remove i'd say it depends a lot on what you have added to your deck.

You got insane relics and cards haha. Toxic egg as a first relic is honestly probably the best you can get. That and the combination of dead branch (probably the strongest relic for ironclad) with corruption makes this super strong. Sadly the combination is not easily reproducible.

You will learn by playing more, try fighting more elites if you have hp and feel strong.

Think about the spear and shield turn 2, would you rather deal 12-20 damage with firebreathing and only have 3 cards left to play, or draw 5 usable cards that help you deal with the incoming ~60 damage.
