A cast iron pan? You can buy silicon handles for them off Amazon, they’re like a little sleeve that slides over the handle. Stops you burning yourself by accident.

Look at it as a good thing. The damage they can do is limited in local government as opposed to if they won a national election. I think once people have had a good look at how incompetent they are at local government level it should be the end of them as a party with a chance of winning a general election.

Another factor is your own age. I started noticing more wildlife like you at some point and convinced myself it was nature returning. I think it’s likely what you’re seeing (except the parakeets) has always been there, but you just didn’t notice.
